96/7 GTS in launch colours were built?

I'm guessing that it'll be another 10 years or so before these cars start to appreciate. Fueled by the fact that the youngsters that lusted after them in the 90's will have some spare by then.......it seems to follow in these cycles......at the moment we're just starting the 80 revival, cars such as the Aston Vantage V8 and sierra cosworths 500 etc gaining value.

According to the Viper Registry http://www.theviperregistry.org/build.php

1996 - 1163 built
1997 - 965 built

Obviously we can assume some of those are no longer with us, so current numbers will be lower

Just noticed that the Viper Registry is also showing that 102 GT2's were built in 1998... The number that we were always advised of was 100... Can anyone shed any light on this?

That's not too many by US standards then, less than 2000.

the other x2 were engineering prototypes, they didnt have a VINs so dont get included with the other 100

There was a couple of white with blue stripe GTS's built for MD's as well...
