Nad heard it was Salt Lake City, first weekend in October. We attended VOI last year in Detroit, ALMS at Belle Island being a particular highlight. I'm certainly up for doing the next one. Although Detroit is interesting for its heritage, its also a deprived dump. If it is Salt Lake, it wil be a much more welcomming venue. Highly recommended!

closest ive ever got to salt lake was flying over it on the way to LA years ago, at least its somewhere a little different from previous VOI's,

i can highly recommend the 'scenery' in Texas that was used for the VOI cruise, i struggled to keep awake it was that interesting

I think we would be up for another VOI if there is a decent size group going along

Apart from having The Bonneville Speedway on the salt flats nearby, another good reason for having the event in Salt Lake City is this: http://www.millermotorsportspark.com/ Promising looking fascility, only half an hour from the city. Bonneville Speedway is a two hour drive.

yep Nad was right Salt Lake City :

On behalf of the Viper Club of America Board of Directors, we are very pleased to announce the dates and location for the eleventh Viper Owner Invitational. Your national officers and board of directors have worked countless hours with a number of different possible locations around the country. Once narrowed down, we then worked tirelessly with the different venues and other participants to make sure this will be the BEST and one of the most affordable Invitationals to date. So ladies and gentlemen, here you go:

Viper Owner Invitational #11

Dates: September 30 - October 3, 2010
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Host Track: www.millermotorsportspark.com Miller Motorsports Park

Host Hotel: http://www.grandamerica.com The Grand America Hotel
Secondary Hotel: http://www.littleamerica.com Little America Hotel
Cruise: Alpine Loop & Park City

Additional Information
The weather is generally very good that time of year, with temps in the mid 70's and fall colors at their peak
Miller Motorsports Park is the main track and is one of the best facilities in the world, features a 4.5 mile course that can be divided into two full-time tracks in ten minutes or less

We will feature the www.world-challenge.com World Challenge Season Finale on Sunday as part of our event - nationally televised
It will also feature the new ACR-X series

We will have two professional go-kart tracks (and karts) available on Friday & Saturday

At least two autocrosses and very possibly an off-road Jeep course

We are reviewing a drag strip option this coming week

Hotel rates will be as low as $159 at Grand America (normally $300) and $109 at Little America - NOT available for booking yet

We are hoping to LOWER the registration fees
Chrysler, Dodge, & SRT will all be there along with numerous VIP's
We should have at least one raffle car there - and hopefully a couple more surprises... wink

do not contact the hotels for reservations yet as we are finalizing the rates for everybody. We will be posting more details as they become available (very soon), so stay tuned. We look forward to seeing you there!

You need to be a VCA Member mate... But i'm sure there are people out there that are not members and have vipers.... All you need is a VIN to join wink

Every year so far it has been just for car owners Andrew, you didnt actually need to be in the VCA as Baz suggests, but just own a Viper.

The way they check this is when you register you have to supply the VIN on your vehicle, with all changes that have been going on it has been mentioned the VCA might be funding most of the costs using their coffers, where as previously Dodge has stumped up the majority of the money (in the past they reckon its usually costs close to a couple of $Million to put on !) So the rules might change this year

its to early to find out, but ill ask the question for you at a later date

A big concern would be if the VCA are funding it i bet one of the first cuts will be the spare vipers that dodge provided for us internationals to use. The track events will be pretty boring if we have to just stand around watching. It was frustrating enough at VOI9 on some events when the spare vipers were sitting around not being used but the marshal wouldn't let us have another go.

Andrew, good to meet you and Jenny the other night. You can always 'borrow' one of my snakes if it helps......Steve K has 'adopted' one for the last two years! We are going to VOI XI for sure, apart from the opportunity to be in an incredible atmosphere drenched with vipers, it is also one of the most stunning areas in the US with mindblowing scenery. Well worth an extended stay.

a bit more info copied off the VCA:

Beautiful organized scenic cruises including coaches (tour buses) for those that don't bring their cars such as many of our European friends. This will be a very full weekend for every flavor of owner - from track rats to cruise junkies to those that just like to sit back and observe. One of the coolest things is having the ability to split the track at MMP into two completely separate courses. This means that our friends with World Challenge and Viper Days/Dodge Viper Cup can be using one track while the owners track their cars adjacent to them on a completely different course.

So if you don't want to track your own car or even if you don't bring it with you at all, you can still watch major race series (practices and actual races) as they go all out and door-to-door around the course. Imagine watching Tommy Archer as he leads the field in a Viper Comp Coupe as Porsche, Cadillac, and others giving chase. Or imagine seeing a dozen of the new Viper ACR-X's in a variety of different paint schemes as their 640 HP motors roar by. And don't forget that we will have TWO different full-length kart tracks with karts as well to keep everybody entertained. We hope that Dodge will be bringing a few extra cars for folks to take turns driving as well.

MMSP Track Stats and Specs
Elevation: 4,450 feet
Variance: 77 feet (Southeast Corner to Northwest Corner)
Width: 40-50 feet
Front Stretch: 3,500 feet

Full Course: 4.486 miles, 23 turns
Outer Course: 3.048 miles, 15 turns
East Course: 2.242 miles, 15 turns
West Course:2.183 miles, 10 turns

its quite a lofty place, hope you like altitude
Salt Lake City:
Elevation of Temple Square - 1317 meters (4320 feet)
Minimum city elevation - 1284 meters (4210 feet)
Average city elevation - 1319 meters (4327 feet).
Maximum city elevation - 2870 meters (9410 feet)

Have been looking at this and as the Snake is still in Baltimore I have decided to make it a roadtrip and drive it to Utah for VOI 11.
