Gen 2 Headers (Non Stock)
Discussion
Yours has tubular headers already doesn't it?, if so waste of money to put bellangers et al on, unless money is no object or your doing a lot more work.
Hp increase will be negligible, putting them on mine brought my BHP up to match Shoebags with stock headers. (97 had the cast ones)

Dave's right, with your year model any changes will be negligible, probably not worth the money. I am planning on doing mine in the new year, but the earlier cars have cast headers and can gain a fair bit of HP with the Belangers, with the later tubular headers there really isn't much point, unless it's just something you feel the need to do.

So here's what ive got so far
I have the Belanger Cat Back system, I measured the Belanger pipes with some Vernier calipers and they are almost 3" in Diameter. As you can see in the above pic there is a smaller joining pipe which attaches to the stock Cat.
Here's another shot showing the complete side system.
Now my question is this, Should I now Complete the system by getting the Belanger Headers and remove the cats? Or get the smaller Belanger Hi flow Cats also?
(and some more garage floor paint)

Not to pour salt in the wounds, but since fitting high flow cats the GT2 fails the emmission test for its MOT and you will need the cats to be modified to 3" as per your post, Roe did mine and made a complete cock up of the dimensions, so if you are going to do it get the whole lot from one manufacturer.
which ones did you go with Paul ? as the Random Tech (off JonB) non-ceramic in the GTS passes with no problem at all, and they are quite tiny and fairly see through, and mated a treat to the Borla and Belangers
a couple weld tacks to hold it in place and aligned, then removed off the car and welded on the bench

Same experience here on both counts. For a cheap sound increase just get some straight pipe from a local auto parts shop and cut the cats out, put them back for the MOT shouldn't cost more than £10-£20. Gassing Station | Vipers | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
