Viper SRT10 Black Mamba

Morning Guys,

Some of you may have seen my post in the Thames Valley section, but I have some better pictures now and thought I would formally introduce the new purchase.

Actually bought by my Dad, but it will be used by him/myself and my brother.

The car was sourced and bought from a local dealer in Sarasota FL (Who we have used before) and it will stay in the sunshine state until early next year when we will ship it and do the IVA, hopefully complete and on the road by March time 2010.

I cant remember the specific build number of the car - as I haven't actually physically seen it yet

But it is a 2004 black Mamba edition with only 10k miles - Originally it was a California car whose owners retired to FL and traded it in for a ZR1 I think.

Here are some better pictures, I already have some things I would like to ask you guys, But I will come to that in a bit....

We also have a Mamba edition that came from Florida, what number is yours on the centre plaque of the 200 made? IVA is easy to pass, let me know if you need any advice there

The records are most misleading even Wikipedia quotes only 200 cars but I once found a number 86 in black which is my number so I guess there were 200 of each colour.

Still makes them rare and the funky black/red interior is a must have if you sat in a stock SRT

2 lots of 86 could still be 2 x 100 - 2 lots of 186 would definitely line up to 400

Just did a bit of VCA'ing... Still not clear on this, but definitely looks like 200 of each... Plus some people referring to another 200 in Silver???

Totally confused now...

Yes that is correct because Dodge did have further orders for the mamba they did make an additional 100 in silver.



BTW if every you get a Mamba check you get the car cover with the number on.

by the way mark, Twiglove is the guy with the massive red truck that is a regular at the Ace

I already think it will need to be louder for the TR's - Has anyone installed that electronic exhaust bypass valve?

Also where would I find a stripe supplier? I am thinking about a single stripe running up the drivers side - a bit like the 08/09? ACR I have been searching on-line but to no avail?

Hi Twiglove, With regard to the stripe question, are you looking at Vinyl or Paint? If you want to go the Vinyl route first, I'm sure Neil (Viper) could help you out with that he produced the Graphics for my car and put them on for me Drop him a PM As for the exhaust question, I believe James at Atlantic Sports Cars has just fitted a similar thing on his Gen 2 GTS, Give him a ring, I'm sure he will tell you about it

As for Le mans, Harsh the team are trying to put something together on the Petrol Head Nirvana site, I believe they are going to link up again with Team Langoustine guys and camp on a secure site at Tet Rouge corner I contacted the guys at TL but they are still putting together there prices at the moment I believe Andy ( The Stoat, Viper SRT ) Is interested in driving down as am I and we might get another one or two owners also willing to take there cars down too.

Bring the Mustang on one of the TRs and you can hear what my car sounds like. No bypass valve but it sounds ok
