I am considering switching from membership of the AACUK to VCA as I now have a snake on the drive, but am not sure of the costs for a UK member and the benefits I would receive. Do UK members pay the full $100 membership? And what do I get for that, as I am already using the Pistonheads forum and the VCA site without having to be a paid up member of the VCA.

The main reason for a club membership is the insurance discount, but I get that for belonging to the AACUK for £18.

Are the events I have seen on here exclusively for VCA members or is it more relaxed and so long as you have a snake you are welcome?

Obviously I don’t want to be a freeloader but I do want value for money and if the only difference from the AACUK to the VCA is going to be the magazine then it may not be worthwhile?

Thanks

Not sure if you call it value for money its available for 45 dollars per year.

For that you get a very high quality magazine which has lots of Viper info, including what we get up to in the UK.

Every year we also get a free gift which has been a membership badge/ keyring/ poster/.

Some people say its not much for the price but I love it and its only really less than one tank of gas!!!

I think VCA membership is a waste of space personally, but am a member only because it works out cheaper this way than just subscribing to the Viper Mag which is very good and informative. What does the VCA ever doforus Brits?.....er.....not a lot...in fact in over 2 years of membership i havent even had one of the gifts that all the Yanks get!(Unless they all go the P.L House?!")I feel so much better for that.Whilst on the subject of the Viper Club can a non Viper member still take there car to Viper meets?,as i,m not to sure how much longer we will have ours as we maybe moving onto other things(with horns)but would still like to keep in touch with our Viperbuds?.Maybe Mr P would be able to advise.

On a personal side I'd be gutted if your crew didn't show ! Put me down for first spin the 'horned' thingy

In the earlier days of membership for me the letterbox was bombarded with stuff from Dodge I used to pay $100 to USA, in recent years it has since dried up not that I'm bothered, I'm glad to receive the mag's and a couple of badges for $45 worth every cent in my opinion. Tom you need to more careful how you word things !

Bit dissapointed with some of the remarks on the board about this.

I have had a free gift for the last 5 years two posters and three keyrings red/red fangs and black fangs, if you have not received them I am sorry, but they have NOT BEEN DELIVERD TO MY HOUSE for me to keep and sell or give out as I seem fit!!!

If there is a free gift this year then I will post it on the board and those of you that do not get it I will contact the US for replacements.

Do remember that you must return the VCA membership form if you use the card in the Mag then that is for non members you will not be asked for your vin and you will not receive the free gift nor a clip on membership card/ID.

Forms have been sent out on many occasions but if you need one then please contact me or download it from the VCA site.

Also for all UK events all Viper owners are welcome not just VCA members.

Thanks all

$45 sounds much more reasonable than the $100 that was on the US web site, and Paul you put it rather into perspective being less than a tank of gas. So I gave them a call today and signed myself up so I will wait and see if my gifts turn up and look forward to the mag.

I really must get my butt in gear next year and make my way to some of the events.

I'm a bit disappointed that Tom is persisting with this mad idea of leaving the fold and going Italian. Maybe Sarah doesn't wear the trousers after all Ah well, what about the seats then?
