Spoke to Spud he collected his new car yesterday from the dealership and is living it up at the Pod this afternoon, with fine wine and steaks tonight.
Where-as Mr Fish and Dave have gone back on the tunnel, to Spa with VIP Ferrari paddock passes, look out for them on the telly tomorrow, sipping expensive champagne with the hob knobs
how the other half live

What can I say… Flaming awesome weekend!
Drove to Richard’s straight after work on Friday, got out of work early so that we wouldn’t have to have dinner too late… He eventually ordered a Chinese at about quarter to ten…
Up at quarter to Five on Saturday Morning, and off to Folkestone, I’d never been there prior to the Germany trip, then twice inside 7days!
Arrived at Spa-Francorchamps as Qualifying was starting, and we were given our VIP passes for the weekend, after circumnavigating the main security, which was a tent on the path, which a large number of people were just walking straight round and in to the circuit… Suffice to say, security at the main gate was crap, and a large number of people got in for free, (Bernie would be so pleased!) The irony was that they had guys on quads and off-road bikes patrolling the woods to stop anyone getting a free view, but all they needed to do was walk in the front gate!
Our VIP passes gave us full access to the VIP area for the weekend, (which had SERIOUS electronic security), the main hospitality area, which included RedBull Hospitality, which effectively meant free drinks and food all weekend… We didn’t actually have that much, just a few coffees, and a bit of food on the Sunday.
There we were walking around with pretty much all of the drivers, (apart from Lewis Hamilton, didn’t see him anywhere), the usual others like Martin Brundle, Mark Blundell, Steve Rider, Louise Goodman, James Allen, also saw Bernie Ecclestone a couple of times, and walked past him on the stairs. Name dropping aside, there was a whole load of people I recognised but had no idea who they were, and a couple of test-drivers such as Alexander Wurtz. Decided against doing the whole autograph thing, as to be honest it just didn’t feel right, plus it helped us maintain a level of coolness, and made us look like we did this all the time, and it was nothing new or exciting.
We were given full tours around the Ferrari, Toyota and Renault garages/pitlane, and being quite a Formula1 fan, I have to say I found the whole thing absolutely mindblowing… unfortunately photographs in the garages were not allowed, presumably due to spying issues. We were given the oportunity to lift sections of car and wheels/tyres, I can't believe how light things were! Lifted a wheel off the ground and nearly threw myself backward expecting it to be so much heavier, and a rear wing is stupidly light, especially considering that it carries over two tonnes of downforce! no heavier than a pint of beer.
The amount of money that is involved, and the rather obvious, my truck is bigger and more spectacular than yours competition, was almost unbelievable. Some of those trucks were like Transformers! I can’t believe that they were trucks which folded out into the buildings we were seeing, just incredible! Not to mention the scores of incredibly attractive women, several of which were stood with us at the RedBull bar on Sunday, alright, when I say stood with us, I mean they were next to us…
Despite the extremely questionable decision regarding Lewis Hamilton’s win, (Which I have to say I definitely do not agree with) It was a stonking weekend, which I enjoyed immensely. I can’t thank Michael enough for sorting it for us, and Richard for inviting me, it was one of those experiences that will be with me forever!
Photos will follow in due course.

Oh yeah!!!
Forgot to mention the tour round the media centre, which was quite mindblowing on it's own, the fact that everything we saw gets shipped from Race to Race, is nothing short of phenomenal! The media centre is where the TV is directed from, and all the live feeds go to and are cut and pasted into what we see on the TV... Really was something else.
Little TV's, the LOVELY Marissa sorted us out with some Kangaroo TV's for the Weekend, so that we could watch those and keep an eye on the race as well as seeing everything that was blatting past the place we were watching from... They look like this:
You can pick what you watch, view all the stats, watch each drivers car feeds, and listen to team radios, really impressive bit of kit...
