German Car Cruise Route
Discussion
Completely forgot about this until now, I recorded the route we took on the Friday afternoon around the local area with Sports Tracker. Didn't realise we were following the Rhine for a good section, I thought we came down back to the Mosel! You can clearly see where we parked and where we went wrong briefly
The picture below is a snapshot of the route. If you have Google Earth installed, you can download the KML file here (right click and choose 'Save link as' and save the KML file to your Desktop). Double click on the saved file and it will open Google Earth and show you the route in detail

Now just found the lap of the Nürburgring form the RaceChrono application I used. I didn't think it had worked, but clearly it did
The picture below is a snapshot of the route - not quite as good as the one above and as it uses fixed points, seems to jump a bit. From the app on the phone, I did a 9m 39s lap, max speed 127mph between Flugplatz and Schwedenkreuz

cool, great time and top speed with all that traffic about
worked for me thanks, just had to re-name the saved file to .kml for some reason it saved as .xml
i can see your 3 point turn on the busy Clemesstrabe it would of been easier to join us in the multi story
the overview doesnt really show those 1st gear tight twisty hairpins at the beginning of the run up the mountain (10 o'clock position on the map) until you zoom in

Nokia phone with 'sports tracker' software free off the web, for the cruise route, it gives lots of other info to like average speed, altitude, mph in big numbers, distance covered etc a neat bit of kit
though only works with GPS nokia phones

tut tut VL i just saw your max speed didnt think the cruise was that quick
think your altitude maybe out though ? there is a way of zero'ing it to sea level which i did when getting off the paddy ferry, for me i needed to put in -179(negitive) number
