That was a absolute blast! Both myself and Fee had a wonderful weekend of which I'm sure everybody will be putting up pictures and going on about so I will keep it brief...

I hope Max reads this from the German Viper Club as he was the perfect host in every possible way. And thanks to all our Viper friends for making it a very special weekend to remember.

The obvious final thank you is to Paul and Barbara for arranging and sorting everything to their usual standard. Thank you again everybody - it was fantastic.
also thanks graham for getting me round the ring alive !
p.s. I think I need another trophy as I seem to be the first home as well biggrin

Home, fed, car raped up for bed, gowing through the results (there seems to be some discrepency on C8 who was C8 as a 7 was marked as a 1 on several lists)
Thank's Paul & Barbara thumbup

You mean THREE trophies weren't enough? wink

Yep, fantastic weekend, we both really enjoyed it. Many thanks to all the friends for making it so much fun and for all the organisation from Max, Paul & Barbara - I think it was better than the official VOI!

Bump started the car in the end off the train and got us home no problem. Thanks to Brett for the M2 route avoiding the closed M20 and we had to take another diversion from the M25, but home now. Time for a new battery...

Thanks again to Max, Paul and Barbara for a terrific event. Can't beleive it could be any better, lots of great driving opportunities, lots of good food and excellent company. Shame to go home particularly now i'm looking out of my window at our typical English weather. Clutch has recovered nicely now even with the problems on the M20 there was not a whiff of burning, thankfully.

Had a FANTASTIC weekend! Thanks again to Paul & Barbara for organising us all, and to the Germans for inviting us over and making sure we had a great time.

Despite my coolant expulsion after the 1/4 mile and the brown trouser moment in Koblenz I had an absolutely awesome time.

Can't thank Graham enough for the trip round the Nurburgring, that was a dream fulfilled in that I have had a fast lap round, and to have been in a Viper was the icing on the cake. Christ that boy can drive!!

And those roads!!! OH!!! those roads!!! We have got to do another trip out there in the future! driving

flippin' heck i dont know where to start ! except that was by far the best car event i've ever been to, 1200 miles of door to door fun

Just about everything ran smoothly all the way through with the superb german track-like surfaced roads (off the motorways) and hardly any traffic, absolutely stunning breath taking scenery, i can see why they picked that area and town to host the event. A brief desciption for those unfortunates who couldnt make it:

wednesday afternoon:
met VP and PDP cruise down to Dr.Bobs to collect the Pikey Ballast
then onto to Ashford for a nice hotel and overnight stop, meeting Paul,Barbs,Jenny and Andrew for tea

Thurs:
early breakfast and short hop to the tunnel to meet the rest of the thurs gang, except Graham who got stuck on the M25 after a lorry had over turned and closed the motorway, he took the next train. Quite a bit of traffic out of Calais and loads of roadworks for the first few hours, a stop for lunch and fuel and we eventually met Graham in the afternoon about an hour short of the hotel. Check in, a quick briefing off Max and his team then off in taxi's to a fab italian for some grub and beers

Fri:
We had friday morning to ourselves, so a leisurely breakfast and quick scout around the town before the Fri UK gang arrived at around 3pm with the majority of the German VCA. At 3.45 we all meet for the afternoon cruise, quite a sight snaking in a line for 70 miles around the Rhine, wow a real eye opener, amazing, castles everywhere perched on mountains, we park for a drink mid way for some group pics before heading back to the hotel for a buffet, and a few more beers smile

Sat:
breakfast and out early for the airbase day, we were split into x3 groups with 16 cars in each, rotating around the 1/4 mile, a small salom track around the cones and four laps around the perimeter (4 cars at a time) runway/taxi area with one timed lap at the end running on your own, more lovely food at lunch. Back to the hotel for an hour before we got on a huge river boat which moored up along the car park we were using for a 5 hour trip, where once again we were fed, and trophies given out, well done Fishboy !! for collecting one in each discipline and a couple of speeches by Max and Paul, before a firework display

Sun:
a little surprize for me at breakfast !!! t'was my birthday and infront of the whole hotel it was announced by Mich, and that the UK club had very secretly arranged a extremely hot lap for me in the Zacspeed Viper around the Ring with their pro-driver (Andy) so 30 miles and a slice of choc birthday cake i find myself sporting a balaclava and helmet getting strapped into the viper...

just as we pulled away he calmly told me over the intercom just the day before he was the driver involved in a huge, high-speed accident in their 'other' viper which was said to of been written off!! he was the first around a bend and ran over some oil dropped by a 911, which sent him into a un-contollable spin, another six cars followed 200 metres of barrier destroyed, the track was closed for several hours of clearing up and repairs.

As we touched over an estimated 120mph going by the revs (the speedo had been disconnected so not to scare people )darting in and out of 'slower' and lots of traffic Andy told me he had completed over 3500+ laps around the track, the car had a few mods, Move-it brakes which were proven by far to be the best, Stoptech wheels, the same racing gearbox as their 24-hour race car with dry sump for improved life span, upgraded suspension, roll cage and harness's, the engine was standard, but boy did it move in his hands !

Quite an experience which ill never forget, awesome smooth driving skills
picking a route through the other cars we must of passed at least 20 other cars, hard instant braking that made you think your head will fall off, the extreme grip, high speed riding the curbs, ive been in a few fast cars on quite a few tracks, but Andy was in an entirely different world of speed previously unknown to me, what a great birthday i thank you all !!!

Mon:
pack up and head to the tunnel and a fantastic UK convoy passing the F1 circuit en route, more brill deserted roads and a bit of higher speed driving later on

I must applaud the German VCA, Max and his team for expertly organising a wonderful few days for us all, Mr and Mrs L once again for all their efforts, and everyone else their for making it such a memorable, fun packed trip, how we laughed !

clapclapclap

What a great time we had. I'd like to thank Paul for inviting us in the first place and all of you for your hospitality. We really enjoyed ourselves. Hope those of you that had to go up the M20/M26 didn't get held up too much.

I'm sorting through video and photos now. I'll try and get them up tonight.
