10.3 at 131 mph pics

Not quite able to wheelie...yet! Finally got to Pod this year, on some old and loaned out drag radials, one twin did a shake down run of 11.2 at 124 mph, before the top coolant hose vent-valve let go, antifrezze everwhere :-( The other did run after run at 10.3 at 131 mph, no 9's in reach, yet though!
Hi Stevie, yes launching good! Tires are Hoosier drag radials, a little better in my books that the MT's. I did consistant 1.5's on them 3 years ago, speak to Joel about them, I loaned them to him to try, as I was pleased with them (had a job to get them back!!) he was impressed after using them he went and bought a pair and the 17" wheels too! Others that have tried them last year have got good grip too. 16 psi seems to work best, right pressure seems to make quite a difference. Anyway 3 years on they are worn to the markers, but still up for 1.5's
Forgot to say, trap speed may have been about 5 mph higher, but seems it was lost to the strongish headwind according to discussion with USA guys. This would be about right, as I tuned the car in to run on Sunoco GT 105, and made some more ponies over pump petrol 98 octane. I was on the 98 before when I ran 10.8s at 130 with a slipping clutch! I knew that clutch was costing me 3 10ths +
Dave, motor has a bolt on twin screw SC, water injection, piggy-back ECU controller, a little headwork, custom side exhaust, 1.7RRs; still OE block, OE wet sump and all that (as I don't have the £ / $ to really go to town!). It took me a year to be able to afford the twin clutch needed, but well worth the work and wait!
