Hi Folks,
I was wondering if anyone has had a LAY UP Insurance policy on their Viper.I thought it might be a good idea to insure the car whilst its off road but so far the quotes i,ve had have boarded on the insane...best quote £480 worst £1400eek It almost seems cheaper to have the car fully insured at this rate(£380)but the last time I laid up my TR6 /Lotus it cost around £60....so whats going on!
Any useful info would be great. Cheers,Tom

From my days working with Car Insurance numerous years ago, I remember being asked to organise Laid Up Insurance, and if memory serves me correctly it was something which was being phased out by most insurers. I think it'll take alot of digging around to find a reasonable quote. Especially considering the fact that the theft/fire aspect of the cover would still be required regarless of the lack of road risks.

I would stick with full cover, and if you have already got that at £380 you are doing very well.

If you get really stuck I'll happily look after the car for you Tom...wink

Give Blackford Bloor a ring as they have always been very helpful to Cobra builders and offer a work in progress insurance which is very similar. I would post a link if I knew how so google them for details.
