N'burg and Spa

I'll second that, it was all great FUN...THANKS.
Thanks too for the ride around the ring in yours and Simons cars, awesome.
Hey, what's the date for next year?
Joel's missing Nurburg (no pork-shitz, but I did cook him a ring pie for tea, it was of course with cabbage!!)
Bring on the vid...

I guess I should admit it - after you left Nad, I over cooked it at Spa and stuck it deep in the gravel trap!
Managed to get out on my own but still dropping gravel 500 miles later back home! No lasting damage, just some gravel rash on the passenger sill and a scatched caliper. Shame I wasn't videoing that lap!

Actually, it was a very progressive spin! Just went into the bend slightly too fast and the back end slid slowly round. Nothing unexpected or scary, but at 90mph plus, scary enough. Just let it happen after the initial correction didn't recover it and went backwards into the gravel.
Brakes were fine. Had I entered too fast due to brake fade I would have worried, but it was just me. Did a similar thing a few years back at the Nürburgring in the MR2 - just a bit too confident into a fast bend.
Not proud, but I do like to keep pushing progressively to see what it can do
Need some new front pads now - as you can see from teh pictures, there was a few millimetres of pad dust on the wheels - nothing the jet wash couldn't remove though.

Hung off saying anything as I admit to being the 'Coward of the Bunch' only two laps but must say desperate to go back and do another 6!
Got to do it in the Viper although as Graham finally admitted, its a big car, with a fair turn of speed and the thing that makes me slow down the cost and the love of my car I would be gutted if anything happened to V10 Boy I love it so.
Must go back next year, we must all go back!!!!!!!
European Viperdays names please and I'll try to arrange something with Grahams help.

Hi Paul,
If I'm not mistaken we chatted briefly on Saturday afternoon on the parking lot (the Dutch blokes). You're so-called 'cowardly' approach is nothing to be ashamed of. I went round with a mate in his MR2 Turbo on Saturday and conditions were quite treacherous: many wet parts on the track.
Perhaps you saw the white 911 GT3 being trailered off on Sunday with a slightly modified front-end? Would have been a shame had this happened to your car!
Anyway, the two Vipers certainly looked the part @ the Ring!
MDG.
I agree - nothing cowardly about it Paul. Remember the guy who turned up in his Elise to join us and trashed it into the Armco on his very first lap? You buy a tourist lap of the ring and drive it how you want to and how you enjoy it. But yes, I do agree, the feelings for my Viper mean that I hold back somewhat which can be seen on the incar video - unlike Joel's tyre screeching antics!
Here's to next year and a crowd of Vipers
Oh - and I thought this year was fairly inceident free - the track wasn't closed at all through incidents. First year that's happened...

I was just cruisin' it, honest
Thought a bit furthur about this and you are absolutely right. I too would worry about taking my viper to the Ring. I probably had more fun thrashing my Toyota around than I would in the viper, I know in the viper I would want to push it to the limit and the Ring is just too unforgiving. I just couldn't face the thought of dragging the Skunk back to England on the back of a truck . So think the Toyota is just fast enough for the Ring in the meantime, thats a lot of track to learn. Now wheres that German language course ?

Well words fail me nice remarks from everyone.
Yep I remember the guys from Holland great english speakers and some of the gretaest 'Petrol Heads' I have met.
Remember buying a Viper is like buying a Harley, its a life style thing like joining one of the biggest families in the world.
