Surrey regional Corvette meet

Sounds good to me,i recieved a letter back from the hotel that is by TOTB3,Elvington.~~~~~~
DearMr B
Our summer rate for 2004 per ROOM is 71.50 but i am very happy to offer you a special rate for 2 nights of 129.00 per room,in the hope you can book up to 20 rooms, single nights would however not benefit from a reduction.~~~~~~
Might be a bit of a tall order i think, although that is price per room with a cooked B/fast and each room is a Double or a twin, there is also a couple of lounges,Resteraunt,BAR and pool table(which of course would have to be used Vipers V Vettes.).it depends on what others want, some might want to go for 1 night,2 nights or drive up on the day.
I will see how the feedback go's
Ime probably gonna go up on the Friday night and chill on the sat and will give a deposit to the hotel in December to secure a room as i think TOTB3 will be very popular.

venom500, having read your profile, your car sounds (on paper lol) awesome.
I like Vipers as well as Vettes (especially the Venom 1000TTs).
So will you be doing any more mods before TOTB3?
If your planning on being a major force at the event (finishing in top 5 in any discipline, overall especially, then I'll be behind you, and the Vettes, 100% - it is about time someone taught the Skyline GT-R boys who is boss!!).
Oh TOTB3 will be good....

Thanks for your interest,i am planning on going to TOTB3 but not sure what i will have by then,as at the moment am looking at a DIABLO,if in the Viper still then just by running on some better tyres i should be able to pop into the 11,s as for top speed i don,t think we can hope for more than 180 for the standing mile without major expense (Nad,s Supercharged beast was only 0.8 of a mph faster!and that was with over 100 bhp more than us!).So its a bit up in the air at the moment.
I wish, but Nad's sadly not 100 bhp more! Unfortunatly Nads beast is losing compression badly on the rings, and although only running at 5psi, with no intercooler the heat sink on that hot day at TOTB zapped the power also. Your quarter mile trap speed is one of the most reliable indications of a cars true bhp, and seeing as Venom ran the same as Nads at 111mph, I'd say we were running like bhp. Running a rear wing etc would have also reduced my top end run.
Point taken, but the 1/4 mile trap times were well out on the "flying" lane, and in fact my best time/speed was 127 mph at 12.16 not 111 mph at 12.15.Rocket Ronny also ran his best time on the "flying" lane with a 10.4 at "only" 124 mph.Compare this with the best time of the day set in the 1/4 mile only lane of 9.95 at 153 mph or the Dax Rush on the same lane at 11.3 and 123 mph(almost the same terminal as Ronny!!!but much slower).I,m sure you must be aware that your speed of 111 mph was way out(not the time)as there is no waythat you could run a 11.6 against our 12.1 and have the same speeds, even a Cos500 running a poor 14.2 crossed the line at 110 mph!!!And your wing if the same as the GT2 wing gives no real downforce(so little drag)so although in the mile it may have held you back slightly for the 1/4 mile there would be very little difference.I do think your car is down on power put to pull a mid 11 sec run on a very hotday is still great going a does show that your car must be up on power against our car.Maybe a head to head on a rolling road will settle it!(Only Joking!)So in conclusion i would say your car must have ran a mid 11 sec run in the high 120,s.(One more point if the Dax ran a 11.3 at 123 but only managed to top out at 138mph then its rate of speed musthave been slowing as i went over the line, against your Viper that with a Terminal speed of nearly 180 mph was starting to get into its stride as i went over the 1/4 mark.)
Yeah, I only said running a wing would reduced my top end run. I wasn't refering to the quarter as well, it would have a little difference in the quarter and with the additional weight of it (and I'm well aware of GT2 wing 'down force' thanks!). Top end is affected by drag coefficent as you well know, removing your wipers and side mirrors in the top end run, as we were advised by our friends in US when you asked last year could be good for 5mph.
I'm sorry (for me) but my car is not up on power against yours (at the mo!). I don't care whos car makes more power than whos, I do mods mine and I love him for all he is, or all he is not! I'm happy for you having a strong motor, congrats, you won't be having to put in new rings in, in your spare time this winter!
Read up some more on drag racing, if it interests you...we don't need to dyno to prove power, as I said before the trap mph is a true indication of our cars power, the time is down too many factors for example a good launch, gear changes etc. Therefore, our trap speeds could very well be the same, but times differ. Look back to last year when you ran a 129 mph and I think I was 125 mph trap speed at TOTB, yet the lower mph proved to be a faster run in seconds! Yes the left lane mph seemed to differ this year to the right at TOTB, but as long as we compare same lanes we can compare. I know I should have been 117-118mph as the week before TOTBII I ran a similar time at Santa Pod and all my trap speeds there were 117-118 mph! So you can run in the 11s and not have high 120s mph with a Viper!!!
