Virginia Waters All Marques meet, Sun 22/6/08
Discussion
Mentioned it to some of you @ Goodwood last Sunday: 90 cars so far meeting at the 'regular' mass VW meet location. There's a 180 cap on car numbers allowed on the day, so if you'd like to jump in a convoy originating locally to you and come down, please put your name on the list now! Weather permitting the array of kit should be like a small version of Goodwood last weekend, but jumping into a convoy to get there should be just as 'interesting'. Would be good to have a little snake pit in the corner

Sorry I didnt talk more Dave, the Rozzers realy put the dampers on it for me
I take it the lack of front plates is now a confirmed problem? Did Zed come away smelling of roses with his stylish new front number type adornment?Sorry I didnt talk more Dave, the Rozzers realy put the dampers on it for me

I brought a plate holder from Partsrack. It is a couple of pieces of rubber type substance that pushes over the front slats, like a large rubber clothes peg. Works fine, upto 150 mph, plus there are no holes.

I seem to recall that the MX5 number plate holder fits as well, I'm sure RT/10 Dave will chime in on this. I have a stick on plate that looks sort of OK but would prefer to have the car without anything tbh.
Mark
Yup, mine has the MX-5 Plate plynth on it (I think it's the MKII, the first one without the pop-up headlights), it fits directly to the nose with no messing about with the shape, I know it's not to everyone's taste, but having BiB in the Family and friends I'm more than aware of the issues of having no front plate, plus I just wanted to be able to enjoy the car without having to worry about being pulled for something so trivial, and be hit with potential points and fines. The down side is that it does mean two holes in the fascia, but they can always be filled in the future.Mark
The clip that Kev has is easily removed and replaced in a matter of seconds, and is a very good solution to the problem as it can be removed as soon as you get where you're going, my only concern with it was that where they sit over the 'mouth' of the fascia I could imagine it affecting the airflow to the radiator and the oil cooler which in turn could affect the cooling/temperature, (and we are all aware of how hot they can run).
