Last year I got 4 x PS2's from Costco for around £800 fitted. Look out for their occasional deals on Michelin tyres.

It would be very useful if anyone who knows of a good deal posted it, I still need a pair of PS2 fronts (and thanks to Nad for suggesting the Toyo's but my rears are new PS2's and I don't want to mismatch them). Maybe a group buy if there is demand and someone knows a willing supplier?

Was looking at those on Pete's car at Silverstone... Look good, he seemed pretty pleased with them too. Unfortunately doesn't look like they do them wide enough for 17" wheels though...

Dave, been onto them, as I still run 17"s on the GTS and they are only going to be bringing out a 275/40 and 315/35 soon, rears a little small and better suited to a 12" rim max :-(

No sign of a 335 then? that's a shame...

if you can't get the tires to fit the wheels, could you get a lighter set of aftermarket 18" wheels to fit the tires? the toyos are awesome - having trouble staying in the car around some corners! donuts were alarmingly easy to perform on the old PSs i had before, but almost impossible on warm, new R888s - very reassuring! don't know how they'd compared to equally new other brands in the wet, but had no problems with basic driving traction returning from silverstone. hope i never have to test how good they are again in the wet...!

Talking to a tyre fitter the other day about those tyres.. he was fitting tyres to a 650HP (GT500) and he really rated them....

No disrespect but the tire fitter has possibly other than fitting them, no experience in driving on them tumbleweed

Very true but if thats what people are fitting to the high end cars then alot of it goes on reputation... Like the R888's once people start using them and word gets around....

chatted to Mich today, he said while at Sebring he talked to the ViperDays race winner, they have to run Hooziers in that series which is a full slick

he ran 888's on his compe coupe while testing and they were only one second per lap slower than the Hooziers ! which is quite amazing for a road legal tyre

the 18" Toyos are little bit more than the 17", Mich got his delivered to his door for £730 from a UK supplier

When we where at Sebring Lee the guy that won the Sunday race in his GT coupe had a set of worn R888s in the back of his truck while we where loading Chuck Babel’s car onto his trailer he came over help Chuck and have a chat.
I quizzed him on the performance of the 888s and how they held up on his track car, fantastic was his comment infact they performed so well he said there was only a 1 second difference in his lap time's from full slick Hoosiers to the 888s.
Now that is a recommendation and more importantly a recommendation from a guy that uses the tires in anger and on our type of car.

Looking at the tread pattern are they any good in wet conditions (coz we kinda get a bit more rain in the UK than US).The tread pattern for water removal looks poor. But I,m not a tyre expert just going on visual clues? Has anyone tried them in very wet conditions?

fair enough on a everyday car, but how often do you go in the wet in your viper, me never? or even get caught out on a run, if you do you just take it easy anyway

the only downsides with tyres like these are they hoover up everything off the road then chuck it down the side of your car, not sure how long they will last either, but thats the price you pay for superior grip
