Sump, oil supppliers?
Discussion
looking to fit a baffled sump pan on the next oil change (- very soon). is it just a simple swop and dare i ask: is Chuck the main man for sourcing the thing??
also wondering if anyone's discovered a uk source for the magic liquid - need some more already: Mobil1 10w-30 or maybe stick with the 5w-30??
thanks

Pete, you already have the bigger sump! Sump is easy take off from under the car, gasket is reusuable, but good to put a little additional sealent on the corners of the block (get a little step on some motors). You'll need the trap doors and an uprated windage tray, fit both with locktight on the threads. Also good to fit an ACR oil filtre adapter, you'll need gasket for it too. Few hours work, that's all!
I always bought Mob1 from Joel, hes over end of month, but there's not a lot of discount to be had on the mob1. You might want to think about some cold air ducting to your front brakes if you're preping for the track. Partsrack do a good kit, or make you own with ducting. Even the Porsche air deflectors help. Decent pads too, like Performance Fricton. Also tube on the PS breather, and make sure the cap is tight. Oil catch tank etc...etc...

I can recommend dan his kit is nicely engineered and well thought out, pick up can swing from side to side allowing good oil pick up.

Thanks for info. Thinking of going baffled sump after realising the full cornering capability of the beast last night with the new Toyos, on decent dry, empty roads! Remeber straight after Silverstone hearing a few tapping sounds and for the sake of a pan, it's worth it if i can avoid bigger problems later.
