Hi guys and girls, it's the first round of the BGT this weekend at Oulton Park. There are 4 teams racing Vipers this year, although not sure if they will all be this weekend.

I am heading down on Monday and trying to talk Neil into going. Anybody else going?

like to say many thanks to James@Atlantic for the use of his ramps yesterday afternoon,

DrB did some general service work thanks Baz !, swapping diff, gearbox, power steering fluids, oil and filter, and fuel filter from Chuck T

if you ever change your fuel filter make sure the exhaust is cold, you get some splillage of petrol when disconnecting the filter which lands on the exhaust, its pretty hard to reach though without ramps

drove back late last night in windy snow showers on the M1

couldn't get mine off after having a long go at it last year... pipe just wouldn't disconnect!

mine had never been swapped (just turned 16K miles)

i've warched Baz do a couple now the pipes seem to pop off fairly easily, it only takes him a few minutes

there is a knack to it or they will never budge, if you just pull, the connector gets tighter, but if you push the pipe on further, hold the clips back and then separate, they should come apart fairly easy .

just got back from todays racing met Colin there,
had a great time got up close to all the cars around the pits, we had a quick chat with the Brookspeed guys, seems there viper was 5mm to low on saturday which put them in the pitlane. Today they also had to start in the pitlane as they needed a new engine after some rods broke

x5 CC's running which was nice to see in a various marque 1 hour race with driver change over, Lambo won (first win since ?) by .9 of a second think the ferrari team came in 2nd and RPM boys snatched third

seems the blue/white Moore Racing viper had a nasty accident at Silverstone on fridays test day at Britcar, and suffered a lot of damage

(pics in a bit)

Looked Nasty!

Got to laugh at the video, when car bursts into flames and in the background a second or so later you hear... "That's on fire" ... Really!? I hadn't noticed!

wonder if racing in such cold conditions played a part in causing the accident...

thought about this on monday it was rather chilly but dry only a few spots of ice all day, the brookspeed viper had to start the race from the pitlane, so the other cars had a warm up lap

the viper joined at the back from the pitlane, with very cold tyres and brakes no doubt the driver would of had to take it easy for a few laps, though the team did a great job as they still ended up in 6th place

not sure what happened to the ginetta, the gorgeous modena lambo GT also suffered some serious damage on saturday
