had a decent 30 mile run this afternoon with the new lower rated thermostat, worked well, the engine temp guage sat just below the 90 all the time, where as before it just been slightly over 90

so if your 190 fails it worth swapping for the lower one

hi matey
just out of interest, where do you get your parts from.
and whats the situation on uk dealers getting viper parts.
i have noticed a small oil leak,it seems to be coming from the hose that goes to the oil cooler.this is a good example of the type of part that is required from time to time.im well used to getting vette parts from the states.i kinda plan work on the vette, but dont want the down time on the viper.so if i can get stuff over here that would be good, seems mad to order
one small part from the states, but if i have to then i will
oh and please dont tell me the hose comes with the oil cooler and half the front of the motor.biggrin LATER DAVE PS i had my eye on a 170* stat to. the heat haze out the hood vents is not good,so anything that reduces heat is ok by me.

like nearly everyone here i get all new Mopar parts off Chuck in the US
www.tatorsdodge.com the parts are a lot cheaper than Chrysler UK charges and will turn up quicker to

if you want to use a UK Chrysler dealership go to Whitehouse in Kent

occasionally second hand mint parts i get from a couple of other US suppliers

i was told on the gen2 you have to watch out for the 170 thermostat as it may throw the engine check light on, not sure if that applies to gen3, the ECU senses it takes to long for the car to reach the correct temperature and puts the check light on the dash

Be carefull if you use Whitehouse in Tonbridge there are a couple of guys there who are rip off merchants, sorry Lee thats just the way it was for me and my Jeep.

Chrysler dealers in Hailsham and Horsham are just downright incompetant also.

the sedate drive was a practice run for sunday, when i follow you down South wink as you rightly know, you never need a heater on when in the Midlands with our glorious all year round caribbean climate!

ps. remember to have your ice scraper handy VP for the early start North to South biglaugh
