it depends on what was actually carried out, there are various levels of tuning that Hennessey has offered in the past... unless the work was carried out very recently i wouldnt personally go for one, and definately wouldnt pay any more than a standard one espicially with todays prices
with any modified car you take your chance on reliability, more power generally finds the next weekest link in the chain, just with the viper if anything go's wrong it will be big bucks to fix

I would agree with Neil but add with that particular tuner i wouldn't necessarily believe what is claimed is what was done so unless the owner has an independent dyno chart supporting the modifications i wouldn't pay more for them.
Usually with mods you don't really expect to get any return on them on vehicle value unless they are extensive or highly desirable.
You also need to bear in mind the cost of insurance, i found that even with the ins co's that will insure a modified viper they tended to limit the modifications to three, even when you lump them into categories its still pretty easy to go past this with just minor things in each category. Once you go over the choice drops even more and the price shoots up.

Got to agree with the points already made, there are many levels of 'Hennessey Upgrades' for increased HP, for instance mine has a Hennessey Performance Exhaust, which is probably the lowest of the upgrades they did, which added about 50HP going by the Dyno last year. Generally they were increased in suggested 100HP increments Venom 500, Venom 600 etc...
As for the increase in value for one of these cars, I think it depends on who you talk to as to whether this is justified, Tom (Venom500) has a Venom 500, and as far as I am aware is extremely happy with his, but if you mention the name Hennessey on some forums they'll suggest the value be decreased rather than increased. As with anything I guess it comes down to the buyer, and whether they are happy to spend the extra money, at the end of the day increased value is only relative to whether anyone is happy to pay that bit extra for something.
Is this GenI Hennessey in the UK? We are aware of two as far as I know, a 1995 yellow with blue stripes, Venom 600 (If memory serves me correctly), which was previously owned by a member of The Prodigy, and pops up for sale every now and then, and an early Red.
