A mate of mine bought me a Top Gear Magazine Subscription for Christmas. My first magazine fell through the door this morning...

The New ACR has the front page! Yet to read it... But thought I'd let you know.

Current issue of Car and Driver (the one with the new ZR1 on the cover) features a 0-200-0 test including 2006 Hennessey SRT-10.

Would love to be able to confirm that for you James, but unfortunately haven't even had time to peel the wrapping open on mine yet... ranting

TG1 page one, TG2 page 2 and so on

click on the small image, you must allow it open fully, before clicking 'full size' on the top left of the screen and the text will be easy to read, i think if i just post the files here they will be squashed down and be un-readable

Havent had a chance to read the article in full yet!

Is that an APR Carbon rear wing on the back? I know their item is approved for the Corvette C6 & Z06 , ill have to give them a call and see if they are involved in anyway, they do some nice gear , sold a few of those! Not for a Viper mind!

Ill let you know , can bet it will be a bucket load cheaper than buying it out of Dodges parts bin!

cheers

from what ive read on the forums it will be very difficult to get hold of the aero pack parts, splitters wings etc for the 08, it reads like only enough is being produced to fulfil new car orders

that may depend on who the manufacturer is and whether they are tied down to all sorts of legals not to distribute the product in anyway , even so that may only apply to the home market and not worldwide , item just looks suspiciosuly like http://www.j-w-racing.co.uk/index.php?pg=3&p_c... , that one is for the Corvette but could easily be a variationon the design!

From what i have read about it the wing on the ACR is made specifically for the ACR, it has been through lots of wind tunnel and fluid dynamic design to specifically work with the air flow over the viper to maximize down force whilst minimising drag, the shape has been governed by the functionality and not the aesthetics, although it does look gorgeous.

That thing is not some universal ali halfrauds bolt on

With due respect , whether APR have anything to do with the ACR wing or not i can assure you that predominantly the wings they do design are not for aesthetic appearance albeit that they do look the business , they are very much based around function and that especially goes for the cars where specific models have been designed, such as the Corvette , Impreza , Evo and Supra versions. In fact they have products approved for use by the SCCA and a number of top ranked race caars run with their equipment

I was in fact only making a possible observation that this company may be involved as the product looked similar , i dont actually care whether they are or not but its not surprising at all to find major motor manufacturers going to smaller specialist suppliers for the finishing touches on their cars, this i thought may have been a case in hand smile
