Ok Ive been looking around for a while now for a reasonably priced GTS Coupe and have not had much luck on ebay, Ive seen a car advertisied on the Viper club US web site but its a private sale! So have you lot out there got any idea how I could safely get a deal done with money transfers etc, thanks.

Hi Mark
When i bought mine from Sarasota Florida i did a back transfer so i was fully covered..
Still get all your checks done and maybe ask on the VCA forum if anybody knows the car..

Sorry mate, you're right to keep your feet on the ground, especially considering we've been down that road already...

You can't actually join the VCA without owning a Viper, but you can register on the VCA forums and use most of the features, in the same way as you can on Pistonheads. Just sign up to the forums and take it from there... Good luck!

if going USA purchase, think quick - exchange rate is now dropping...
unfortunately my laptop was recently wiped - i had about 20 favorites sites with a large range of 01/02 yr rt prices and cars.... quick google search brings up:
http://autotrader.autos.msn.com/fyc/searchresults....

for starters. i preferred looking at fixed price listings and after long time checking back regularly mine came up and i jumped straight on it.
might be worth checking dealer w/sites. went straight to the dealer website about mine after seeing it on a US auto car sale search engine. will find the search engine site....

i sent a wire transfer direct into the sellers account , bought the car unseen ex california and cra**ed myself for over 5 weeks in case it never turned up or arrived in a poor condition.i would not do this again as it was not worth the stress and when my one sells i will be looking in the uk or flying out to the states.
try and buy one in this country and save all the hassle

Be very careful! I did this a few years ago and the seller vanished with my money. He was also in California. The best bet is to buy a car from the UK. There are loads for sale and at good prices at the moment. Good luck with your search
