For you, what does a Viper offer that, say, a 'vette can't?

One other thing, what are the downsides of owning a Viper?
Is the 'cabin heat in summer' issue which some talk of, really bad?

8L (or 8.3 or 8.4L) of displacement and being a rare, good, sexy looking car

Cabin heat? What is that? :-)

Its more of a raw kick ass unrefined brute.

Downsides though are that it is a raw kick ass unrefined brute.

You can drive a vette everyday across the country no matter what the weather, how your feeling and you will get to the other end as refreshed as if you had done it on any other car, you would think twice of taking the viper out in snow, massively change how you drive in the rain and probably be knackered after a long trip.

Its great.

I've owned a vette, great car and easy to drive.

The viper is a brute, its raw, its draws a crowd where ever you go.( Young and old, they all stop and look)

It hurts your face because you smile so much.

What a car....... don't think about it just do it

It's a possibility, not for me, for a relative, who has £50K to spend 'on something big, fast and different' as he put it.

Got to say not uncomfortable on a long trip do 650 miles in one day every year to Hockenheim cabin heat on the stock SRT10 is only really a problem if you get caught in traffic and even then it is bearable but yes a Corsa Track and some Hi-Flow cats cures that one.

Its not as easy to drive quickly as the Corvette, but it is of limited manufacturer rare in even the US and very rewarding if you can learn to drive it briskly as the only driver aid is ABS.

Dont buy a UK model if you can help it the exhaust is even more complicated with a crossbox attached to the exhaust.

Sounds like a nice 8.3 model, with a really simple, non-cat, free-breathing exhaust system is the thing to go for then!
