(Not sure if it's been sorted but he did report that it had a twisted frame and missing washer bottle & washer motor.)

Bit odd that they both have the same aftermarket wheels.

Just what we need in the UK another trader bringing in cars and lowering prices.

Be interesting to see if the GTS has had recall work on the chassis and the SRT on the cam bolts.

Really ?! Twisted frame huh ? Mate of mine has seen this car and was sort of interested. I also noticed by searching the sellers feedback, he not so long ago bought a washer bottle & motor.
The left front wheel looks a little out of skew in those pictures.

I've got what is supposed to be the VIN for this car - can I be cheeky and ask if there's someone out there who can carfax it ?

Hi, well after a bit of fishing wink- I can confirm you missed it for the good (and so did my friend interested in the car). After my mate had called Chris - who it seems runs a certain Essex based American car import co. - told my mate to the best of his knowledge the car was straight and accident free. He didn't have a carfax - despite it saying on his website that all cars come with a clean carfax.
Anyhow - I got the carfax for it - it was a total loss vehicle on 2/1/2007. Last recorded mileage was almost 19,000 - and not the sellers reported 14,000.

So there's one to watch out for.

Rather low price, be interesting to see if the new owner appears on this forum or if the car appears somewhere else?

Just looked at the dealers website, still on there with a price of £35k

Ha, Andy's post makes things much clearer now.......

If a new user appears, he might be in for a bit of bad news.

I would be surprised if its actually sold.

The car is valued at £35k, would you let it go for £22k? I doubt it. The listing is private so you cannot see the buyer.

Just check the dealer website in a week and see if its still on therewhistle

By the way

Merry Christmas to all on this board

I might be wrong, but under the terms of ebay if the item is offered with no reserve and sells, the seller must sell it at the highest bidding price... I guess there is the potential for the highest bidder to turn out to be a p*ss artist, or they might have accidentally bid on it, in which case the seller might get out of it... But by the sound of things if the seller gets that price, for a car with what appears to be an extremely checkered history, then he's probably going to do quite well out of it and be happy to wipe his hands of it... mad

That photo is classic! laugh

edited to add: on closer inspection the photo clearly isn't you... but nice try... biggrin

It certainly is a checkered history. Not only was it a total loss on 1st Feb this year - it's also reported as being in a 'rear end accident' at about 6 months old. It obviously survived the first accident.

I thought the same myself, I just couldn't decide if it was because it was parked on a slope...
If the frame is twisted I guess that could be what's causing it.

IM NOT BUYING THAT ONE rage Now is it just me but, I seriously think the motor vechicle laws on buying and selling a used imported car need a radical overhaull. Do Revenue and Customs in this case need to be informed that a written off car (in the USA) is now up for sale? what would an HPI check on this car tell you? if its anything like the HPI check done on the car I almost lost my money on, the chances are it will tell you sod all! What do you think?

HPI has always been useless on a imported car, carfax is the only way to go. HPI check will only tell you about any reported history in the UK, some UK accidents dont even make it onto their register
