Well fitted the shifter today and like the difference did drill the rivets out but replaced then with 7mm Rivnuts and stainless bolts the large two holes I used the factory supplied grommets but stuck them in using silicon.
All in all quite an easy job, except you either have to know how to sharpen drills or you need a Cobalt Drill like the instructions say.
Best people are: http://www.mackay.co.uk/webstore/acatalog/2178.htm...
Now trying to work out how to cut down a stock late GTS knob to make it look stock, turning it down is easy its holding it while you put a thread up it thats the problem.
(Not any more just needed a Colcester lathe big enoungh to lose the ball in and leave the shaft sticking out)
Total time to do was less than two hours.

Good to hear the first one is fitted... Unfortunately same as Dave, as far as I have got so far, (due to lack of time lately), is unwrapping mine and checking my MGW knob fits... Hoping I'm going to get some time to fit it over the next couple of weeks.
How many cobalt drill bits did you get through Paul? Is the size specified in the instructions?

They are 1/4 inch which is about 6.3mm if you can't get imperial.
I used one standard drill, cause I'm a flash sod who can sharpen them by hand, college on a Thursday night is finally paying off.
But I think one cobalt should do the lot.
I was using 'Snap On' Sockets which are made in America and the two larger holes needed to be 20mm to get the socket through, this left the gromets a bit slack which is why I used silicon to fix them in.
You will also need a step drill for the 20mm holes and make sure you get it in the right place as per the picture as that part of the box section is double skinned so investigate with a finger.
