I was wondering what the the approx. value would be for a 1996 RT-10 engine with 23,000 miles (6,000 since full Arrow rebuild due to recall, 3000 since major internal work by Valaya Racing)? It has 'Stage 3' race spec heads, cam and roller-rockers (haven't got detailed specs to hand right now unfortunately). With Bellanger headers, Corsa exhaust and high flow cats it put down 470rwhp before the tyres started slipping on the rollers (so that's an under-estimated figure). Any info welcomed!

On the VCA site Dan Cragin is selling a brand new, zero mileage crated Gen I engines for around $6300 US at the moment.

I bought mine - also brand new, crated 1996 and fully dressed (plug & play including the wiring harness) for £4500 about 9 months ago.

Thanks for that, a good starting point. This engine's had close to $10k spent on it and is only just run in. Has a crated 1996 engine had the gasket recall work done though? That was the reason for the full Arrow rebuild on this one, despite there not actually being anything wrong with the engine.

ViperScot,

No the crated engines will require the new head gaskets to be fitted - so that adds another $1200 US to the cost - less VCA discount if people use Chuck.
