Chuck has said that he is able to get them for us as soon as we have a number... So at the moment just waiting for exact details of who wants them...
We also need to sort out how we will be paying for them, as we can't expect Paul to pay for them up front... I'm guessing that the best thing to do is get everyone to send their dollars cash to Chuck and then he will send the shifters via Paul, but I will clarify this when we have numbers.
I would say the best thing to do would be set a date for anyone to put their name down, otherwise there will be some like me who are procrastinating on if it’s worth while and we will never make the order or someone will miss out thinking they still had time to decide.
As it costs £10 to wire money to chuck it would make sense for that to be done as a single transaction, Paul seams to have indicated he is happy to do this and use his UPS account but we should all give him a deposit in the mean time and I would suggest half the $ amount in £ (ie £114), there should then be a small additional payment for any US tax, exchange rate fluctuations, customs and shipping plus bung in an additional few quid each as “pint money" for Paul for his efforts.
So everyone who wants one put their name on here and I suggest put down a deposit, before 5th November (easy one to remember )

Ok... But this is the LAST list I'm starting on this subject!
Everyone who is interested... Please add your names to the list below, BY NOVEMBER 5th at which point, no more additional orders will be taken and we will move to the next phase of this, which will involve each person on the list being responsible for forwarding £114 to Paul as first payment toward orders, and under the understanding that there may be fluctuations in exchange rates which may apply once the order has been made, so a further small payment may be required, (along with beer tokens).

You don’t need to start a new list just set the date that the existing list is complete so that we know when we have to make a decision by. I’m still researching what the benefit of this mod is and if I can be bothered with fitting it. Don’t really want to go down the same road as the 3:55 gears that loads of people said were great only to find I don’t really like them and it’s a big effort to go back.
There do seem to be plenty of posts on the VCA that indicated the shifter didn’t really make the 2-3 shifts easier as the real issue is in the box not the shifter, of course others are extremely pleased with the result.

Neilsfishing? (Yes, will fit a 2002)

Baz was saying that his B&M has made a really big difference to the shift between 2 and 3.
To me it feels like there isn't a strong enough pull, or spring, to bring the gear stick back to the central position, which Baz tells me has been greatly improved with his B&M.
On the VCA forums there are mixed reactions to aftermarket shifters, but most seem extremely pleased with the results after fitting them. Phil recommends the Hurst having fitted one recently, and from the fitting instructions I have read, it doesn't appear to be too difficult a job to do... Must be worth a shot in my opinion.
