Just a daft idea from me (as per usual ) but I thought it would be fun to see who can guess the most accurate power figures for their Viper.
I,ll start the ball rolling with a guestermate of......520bhp for the Venom500.(beer heres to hoping I,m not too gutted!) Mr Hennessy quotes 520bph LOL, so with modded airbox, smooth tubes and 72mm Throttle bodys on top of the "usual Venom 500 kit" I hope to come close to this figure!hehe
FINGERS VERY CROSSED!

Unfortunately I haven't got a clue... I'd be interested in what you think though? scratchchin

Hennessey Side pipes (Allegedly), smooth intake tubes, I think that's about it...
I just hope I don't come away feeling too disappointed... It might get expensive!

I think I'll do pretty well on the Db meter competition! coffee

Got 498.7 on the same day, with 1200 miles on the clock. Would like to see a couple more now its loosened up a bit but still standard.

Although I'm not going to the rolling road day, what do you think my car should have at the flywheel:

1996 RT-10
Race spec ('stage 3') Valaya Racing head work
Cam (not sure of spec right now but definitely 'lopey'!)
Roller-rockers
no cats
Bellanger headers
Corsa exhaust
smoothe tubes
K+N air filter
lightened flywheel
3.54 gears

I'd be interested to get an idea of what I should expect as it's going back to the dyno soon. Cheers,

Hamish

Ok... Having done some research... It would appear that a GenI was advertised as having 400BHP as stock, and Hennessey Performance advertise their current exhaust upgrades as giving a minimum of 45BHP increase, so that coupled with smooth intake tubes which allegedly give about 10BHP... I'm going to go out on a limb and assume somewhere around the 450BHP mark for me...

Though as I say, this is complete guess work at the moment...

Phil should be please then my SRT dyno'd at 537 with 9,000 on the clock.

Think that Justin will post somewhere about 470-500.

Dave think your should make an extra 45 but only if you have headers.

Viperscot no idea you really need a dyno.

Well the car's 415bhp standard so it should be breaching the 500bhp mark with those mods I'm guessing. Let's see what the dyno says tho...

My ACR dynoed at Vixpys at 498bhp. The only thing that I had changed was the cat back exhaust that Nadine kindly fitted for me.

Hi Baz,
I think flywheel BHP, and anything 510+ would be nice!fingers crossed!

Known Venom spec sheet,
Hennessey Headers/cats ect(hennessey)
Roller Rockers (crane)
72mm Throttle Bodies (hennessey)
Up graded leads (?)
72 mm intake tubes (custom)
Larger air box (roe)
Hennessy floor mats! hehe

no idea about the heads, cam and rockers. Belangers and cats/nocats are about 30-40 hp, smooth tubes and K+N are supposed to be about 10 hp. Doubt the flywheel will have any effect or the 3.54 gears as HP is a function of RPM and TQ so all it does is move the peak HP through the rev range. my guess, and that's what it is, would be around 500-550 but let us know after the dyno

Shorter gears (i.e., 3.54 as opposed to 3.07) change the torque to the wheels...

yep except more tq has to come from somewhere and that is lower RPM at the wheels when you change the rear end.

HP = (tq x RPM)/5252

As everything you gain in tq is as a consequence of lower RPM and the engine is still the same so its still capable of the same HP at a given engine RPM, end result is just peak hp moves down the rev range at the wheels
