Just bought my first Viper and was surprised by the length of travel when shifting gears. I was wondering if there was a quickshift kit available, and if so where could I get it fitted.

Recently fitted a Hurst shifter kit to my SRT10, makes a big improvement and selecting reverse is less of a lottery. Easy to fit yourself as well.

Sounds great. thumbup Which type did you fit and where did you buy it? I have looked on a few US websites and there seem to be quite a few options.

Hey V1PER, how did you know I was also looking at a GT500? I may still get one for my wife if James does me a deal. wink

Cheers

There is only one Hurst shifter kit for the SRT 10 although there are equally as good ones made by B&M and probably others. I bought my Hurst of US E bay for significantly less that the likes of Snake Oyl and so on. It was new and came with full instructions and works a treaat.

Just fitted a B&M and love it much better than stock....

I believe Hurst was bought out by B&M within the last few months

For a shorter throw and better 'feel' you just want something like these, and fits in seconds, both great companys to deal with:

http://www.mgwltd.com/viper_gripper_shift_knob_srt...
$75

http://www.mgwltd.com/viper_first_strike_race_knob...

http://www.davesbigbrakes.com/Engine_Tansmission_....
item DVS-032 $50

But, the Hurst shifter is great on SRT's, more direct feel.

Bjorn, do you know if that will fit a GenI?

Thanks, I am considering a B&M short shifter at the moment, but maybe that might be another option.

Wait a week or two and meet up with Pete, Nad's just got the MGW and shorter rod for Pete as he liked the feel of this set up in mine.

Will do, we're going to the Goodwood Breakfast club on the 7th so I'll take a look if he's done it by then. Thanks Bjorn!
