Owning both I would agree, however the SRT/10 is much smoother, the GTS is quite raw and I think that is what causes it, the GTS/R Dyno'd 485, with tubes headers and exhaust with cats. The SRT/10 on the same dyno made 537 and I know on the track the SRT does catch the GTS.
However, is your car stock, with no history and bills perhaps someone spent some serious dosh on it.

Not sure if it is stock, but it sure goes well. What are the most obvious mods that I could check for? However, is your car stock, with no history and bills perhaps someone spent some serious dosh on it.
450 is a US stock spec, a euro spec has less bhp
if the car has stock ribbed airtubes or stock headers that would be a visual giveaway, most change those first to free up some extra bhp
the headers espically are always swapped on a modded 97 as they are quite restrictive
