Can somebody tell me if the Clutch adjustable on a gen 1 ?
I drove the car around 500 miles to Brunswick Docks in the States last month, then picked up the car from Southampton on Monday. Tuesday it was virtually impossible to select reverse with the motor running, and now it is virtually impossibler to select any foward gears.

Not adjustable. Have you got fluid in the remote reservoir (engine bay) usually it's discoloured so you can clearly see the level though the white plastic, if not take the cap off and carefully lift the black rubber piece to see. If empty you likely have a leak! Top up and then fully pump the pedal a few times over, this might help to be able to get gears to move the car. The slaves are prone to leaking, the casting is poor around the bleed valve point. Email me through this site and I'll give you my number if you want me to help talk you through some checks you can do.

Thanks Nads
Checked the resevoir - plenty of fluid
There is also a noise as you rev the car which was not there before, between say 1000 and 2500 rpm not like a knackered or loose bearing noise, more like a sort of tightness. Not sure how you email through this site, but if you would like to email your Tel No to me I would appreciate your help.

Hi Kev / Nad

The problem seems to have cured it's self, only explanation I can think of is that there was some moisture / bubbles in the clutch fluid, It was extreemly hot in US when I drove it to the docks - I suppose its possible the change in climate could have been the cause ?

Need to get it sorted for an MOT now, no cats on it - may be a problem ? (sounds wicked though)
I did the lights on my last one - very straight forward rotate the holders and wire up a fog light.

She's pinking a bit with super unleaded, so I may need to reprogram the VEC2 - I've got all the documentation and software, and I'll have ago at anything - but a bit reluctant at this stage about tinkering with out some help or advise from somebody who has experience of tuning these things - any offers ?

I am told by the previous owner that he thinks it is running 6.5 psi boost. I've got the two other pullys, I also have 3 Standard cards from Roe, plus 3 custom cards marked :
1. Meth Kit 6.5 boost 0 run Final - SAFE
2. Meth kit 10 PSI Boost Final Run - SAFE OCTANE BOOST NEEDED
3. Meth kit 10 PSI 8/6/07 Retarded Timing

I say may need reprogramming because I put half a tank of unleaded in on the way back from Southampton, did 30 miles then filled up with super so about a 40/60 mix of unleaded / super unleaded. used about half a tank ( noticing the pinking mainly under accelleration in 5th ) then filled up again with Super + an octane boost addative, whole bottle. but still noticed a bit of pinking.

I wonder if any one can help with with sourcing some minor parts, I would like a pair of new door appature rubbers, Mine are looking a bit tatty, plus 6 of the blanking plugs that give access to the sill fastners, and a large rubber blanking plug - Gives access to the rear of the front bumper. If any one has got a pair of Hi flow cats I may be interested.

Cheers guys

Thanks for the input, but I'm still having clutch problems on my '94 RT/10 SC'd snake.

Changed Clutch Fluid, Changed G/box Oil, Refilled with generic Dextron 3, looked the same as what came out. The gearbox looked new, and the oil was like new, not at all discoloured. On the gearbox a label warned that the warranty would be invalid if not filled with Castrol Syntorque LT. I searched through the forum but the consensus was that either Fluids are OK - Would you agree ? or is this a non standard box ?

I think I've discovered the problem with the cluch. None of the above made any difference - still can't engage reverse with the engine running. What I did notice while getting covered in oil and stuck under the car was that the slave cylinder inside the bellhousing appeared to be loose - is this meant to be ?

Would appreciate a response as I am planning on going to the rolling road day in Luton next Sunday, and whilst it is still drivable it would be nice to get it sorted.

Thanks all

Going back to Neil`s comment, I`d also be very careful about running it full bore either on the road or on a rolling road.I`m guessing you don`t need me to tell you that if she`s pinking you could end up with a holed piston if you "go for it".Maybe you should set yourself a safe rev limit. Look forward to seeing the beast next week,Tom
