I recall there were three of these for sale a couple of years ago?

I seem to remember they were fitted with safety devices roll cage.

Just wondering if any of their new owners ever removed one of these cages as I am looking for one??

Thanks

there was x4 Silverstone cars originally, i've seen 3 of them over the last couple of years (x2 over the last month) they all had the roll cages still in place.

Safety Devices did a neat job, which didnt intrude to much into the cabin probably means there is no reason to take them out

Hi Carl, Janspeed have made and installed roll bars to approved MSA spec. I was very impressed by their work. There's other companies too (nearer you) Hauser Racing and Webster Engineering who can install proper spec cages and I would recommend. Apparently Safety Devices said they would require the car to make up another Viper roll bar, those were 'specials' they did for the Silverstone cars.

Some years ago I made my own roll bar because I couldn't afford to buy one (bought the proper CDS and got it hydraulic bent) I then learnt why a GTS roll bar costs so much, it took me several weeks in and out the car to get it right! They are quite complex multi-radial bends on different plains if you want the seats to go all the way back still and operate the manual door release. Anyway I made mine to the required MSA spec, and it passed to get a competition log-book for the car, but never again! Are you planning on bolt-in, or fixed welded? Good luck!

Safety devices tend to make most cagesd to order , so , as long as they still have the tooling or drawings i would imagine they can go ahead and build one no problem! biggrin
