just got back from Silverstone, another www.goldtrack.co.uk
event for Nad and Bjorn in the mean black CC, for a change there was another 2 vipers on track ! a no noise limit day !!!
which is a superbly run and well organised as usual

one of the old blue/white silverstone cars owned by a guy called Mike and another CC brand spanking new, it was its first run out, looked like it was in primer chassis number 111, so the latest spec direct from Oreca i guess quite a few noticeable things different from Bjorns CC

luckily it stayed dry with just a few spots of rain, but was bloomin freezin', at one point in the afternoon we could see our breaths

off to warm up...ill sort some pics later

Thanks Neil for the pic, very nice day out on the track. Good to see the very rare sight of not only a GTS , but another CC lapping the GP circuit aswell. What I don't understand is why there are so few owners who like driving their cars...... you've all got cars with capabilities that far exceeds anything you're permitted to do on the road, don't you ever get the urge to find out what they can really do?

I'm sure if you turn up Bjorn will give you a passenger ride to remember in his CC !

i suggest we persuade Bjorn to be the trackday club organiser

I feel pretty much the same, but would like to come along to one first to get a feel for it before I put my pride and joy on the track. Would definitely love to see the CC in action, so with a bit of warning would definitely join you for viewing.

Great that a couple more owners seem interested in doing some track days, I'll keep you posted on the days I'm booking. At the moment I only have a test day at Castle Coombe booked with the CC, which is different to a track day, as its really more like race condition where timing is permitted. I'm working on another track day, possibly at Donnington before the season is over. I'll post the date when I have it. Good idea to come along and see for your self what a civilized affair track days can be. I usually book with Gold track(http://www.goldtrack.co.uk/) as they have an excellent concept of splitting the cars into two groups, one faster group for the more experienced and another for slower cars and novice track drivers. Each group alternate half an hour on and off the track, which gives more than 4 hour of total track time. More than enough for a day.

All you need to participate in track day fun is a helmet and you must wear something long-sleeved. Best thing is of course to wear proper race overalls and boots. Obviously your car needs to be in good running order. Things like brakes & tyres needs to be able to last the day. Nad can give any further advice needed on this subject, i.e. pressures, pads, cautions etc. Most track drivers are quite happy to help and advise on these days re. any concerns.

I can understand if you worry about taking your pride and joy on track. So do I, but I feel very safe with Goldtrack as they have pretty strict rules regarding track behavior. You don't have to go out and prove anything, just take your time to learn the lines and pick up your speed as your knowledge of the track increases and your confidence grows. Both Nad and myself would be happy to do some sighting laps with anyone interested, either in your own car, or come for a ride in the CC. Goldtrack also provide 1st class instruction if you want it, a.o. from ex F1 hero Mike Wilds and Le Mans star Calum Locke.

We also compete with the Vipers in various formats. Hillclimbs and sprints are great with these cars. Come and have a look for yourself 8th September at the Brighton Speed Trials, we're competing in the twinned S/C GTS's and last hill climb of the season is the Longleat Hillclimb 22nd September where I'll use the CC or the GTS. Please get in touch with Nad or myself if you want to know more about track days or competition.
