I need to get the gadget plugged in to find the fault- currently got a check engine light on the dash & would like to resolve that issue. All work done recently involved a complete strip down with new fluids, filters etc- perhaps the system needs a reset or similar, but I want to make double sure. Without the gadget, I may as well be stabbing in the dark after checking all the obvious things.
Anyone got any more advice or contacts please?

Probably a generic OBD scanner would tell you what you need to know

i've a OBD tool though mine is version 2 sean roe

you need any generic OBD 1, it throws up a number which you look in the book to see what the problem is, it will also turn off the light

you can get a basic one cheap so maybe worth just buying one, espically as one trip to the dealership they might just charge you that for the use of their big DRB tool

if you go anywhere near SH im sure Adrian can tell why the light is on
