Absolutely gutted, got rear ended yesterday by a boyracer in r32 Golf,he hit me in the drivers side rear and pushed me into a parked truck, there was a 12mph speed limit on the industrial park. Parts to repair come to over £20,000 so its touch and go if it gets repaired. Had loads of events planned for this season and I just the other week sold my ACR so I dont even have a spare Viper!

Heres some pics

Ouch!!! Sorry to hear that!!! Pics don't look good, it's enough to bring tears to your eyes seeing such a beautiful car in such a mess... (And if memory serves me correctly it's one of only three in the country?)

Hope it all works out for you Clive! All the best Mate!
If it does get written off, (worse case scenario and all that), Steve Kingshott's SRT Coupe is up for sale... www.pistonheads.com/sales/153795.htm ... (Just a thought)

Good luck!

Sorry to hear about/and see the pics of your car, great shamecrygrumpy
But at the end of the day it's a car, it can be replaced.

The fact that you are writing on here hopefully means that you came out of it ok, and that ultimately, is what matters.

OMG! that looked like such a perfect car when i saw it a week ago
a non fault accident with mine written off 3 years ago, resulted in a compensation payment minus excess paid within a few weeks, but it was of course far far less than you'd be entitled to if it goes that way. the excess was refunded (uninsured loss recovery not long afterwards). hope there's no difficulty proving the other drivers fault.

Looks nasty, that looks like Edmonton, if so how the hell could anyone get any speed up on the roads around the estate to do that sort of damage?

How gutting - such a lovely car

£20k repair should be OK on a car worth more than double that? Still, no recompense for the damage and missed Viper time...

Clive, Sorry to hear of your misfortune that sucks but you o.k which is the main thing. Please let me know if I can be of any help proving the cars value if written off as I have done this for a couple of viper owners in the past. Cheers James

It might be worth mentioning that I just changed insurer to Chubb Masterpiece through Quantum Underwriting Solutions on my 911.

Premium was the same but it pays out agreed value on a write off so you don't end up with a lousy settlement, and gives fully comprehensive cover on any car you drive. It's only open to cars over £30k and supercars, and I'm sure the Viper qualifies. I know a couple of people who've had Lambo's written off and they've been paid out in full after a week or so. No quibbles.

Here's the policy.

Amazing.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the kind words of concern and support over this matter. One thing worth a mention is that tomorrow I'm going down to collect some surveillance video footage that clearly shows the accident, will post it on you tube for all to see!

Some friendly advice (not that you asked, but hey ho).....you may want to hold of before you make the footage public viewing however......you wouldn't want to give the insurance company any reason not to pay out, and doing such a thing could prejudice the outcome, upset the other party's insurers etc.........after all, the Golf driver may even be watching this thread, and may have alerted his insurers to the fact that you are showing photos of the incident on the internet, prior to any settlement being offered, and possibly influencing the outcome. Don't forget, they'll wriggle out of it whenever they can, and you don't want to give them any excuse for doing that, especially as you were not at fault. I'll edit this post if you decide to remove the photos.

So you witnessed this and took pictures you would ruin his insurance claim.......I don't think so the car would have been seen by many people on a transporter witnesse etc...............Sorry as an ex BIB if it had been on the road I would have stuck the Golf on for Driving Without Due Care. And if my insurance company even threatend to do that it would be fine....see you in court.....i'll bring the photo's for you all to look at as well.

Bad enough having your car stuffed.

Well Paul, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree then.....
Myself, I wouldn't make the video footage & photos available in the public domain until after settlement, but each to their own. I've no problem sending them to the insurers to sustantiate the claim, but public domain is a different ball game all together. Guess it's up to the OP for the final decission.
