It seems DamilerChrysler seem unable to locate this for me (tried 4 dealers without success!) ,anyone would think I was asking for a tin of blue steam, but at least it reminds me why I,ll never buy a car or get one serviced from them.
Baz, would you be kind enough to help? Thanks Tom

I had been using Fuchs ATF4000 in my T56..

It may not be expensive, but my box performed faultlessly with it in well over a year of very hard abuse.
Shifts were always clean and slick.

That said, I have just swapped it for some Mainlube 154 gear oil( Aussie stuff, and damn expensive !! ).
Too early to tell if its better, but the Aussies swear by it. Apparently it offers better protection and performance than pretty much any oil out there.

I'll be interested to see how you get on here Tom, mine is badged as a Chrysler as well... Chrysler or Dodge, at the end of the day, as far as I am aware, they were all built at the same place, with the same parts (except the diferent manufacturer's badge obviously) , & under the same circumstances, surely they can't stop you buying what you want?? confused

Hi Dave,
It seems Baz is going to get a call from US Automotive as they are still not sure what type or what amount. I guess fair play to them as the guy on the phone just wanted to make sure I got the correct amount and grade of oil.It has been left with them to confirm this with Baz.
