Morning guys... I'm in the process of solving my non-working temperature gauge problem and whilst there, I am replacing the temperature sensor, putting in a 180' thermostat, replacing all my main hoses with Silicone, and also doing a few other minor bits like changing the side markers etc...

I had cold sweats when I started removing the bolts for the air intake manifold, but couldn't get to the thermostat housing without doing it... I really must apologise for ringing Baz in a state of minor panic on a number of occasions over the weekend, I was heading into uncharted territory a few times there, but must also give big thanks for all the advice! Very much looking forward to getting the beast back together and firing her up again! (Photos will follow in due course)

Here's the question...

I'm having a minor problem, I have a load of Mikalor hose clamps on order via Demontweeks, along with a few other items, I am told that all other items have been sent except the clamps, and I am now being advised that they have had their clamps on back order since November, (they didn't tell me this when I made the order a week ago!) so it's not looking good for a delivery in the near future...

Does anyone know a good hose clamp supplier? Or should I just settle for jubilee clips?
(Any ideas/suggestions would be gratefully appreciated)

The Roe Gen II hose kit came with jubilee clips and they are still there with no leaks so I would say get yourself some decent ones and use them. Don’t get cheap ones that strip off though.

Hi Baz,

I have already been in contact with them, apparently they have an EXTREMELY limited stock themselves, and are awaiting deliveries from Mikalor, (sounds like there is a problem), but I am calling them this afternoon with the diameters of my hoses to see if they have any of the ones I need in stock. I have also discovered that Jubilee make a Superclip, which is almost identical, so I am going to give that a go this afternoon as well... I'll keep you posted...

I've given Powerengineering a list of the hose sizes I have, and am waiting to hear whether they have them in stock or not... Have also discussed with Jubilee, their Superclamp range looks pretty good and is virtually identical, www.jubileeclips.co.uk/products-clips-superclamps.aspx , Jubilee are sending me a couple of samples, as some of the hoses are right on the ends of the clamping range but they seem to have everything in stock, so hopefully problem solved one way or the other...
