Thanks very much for doing that Baz, (and thankyou Nigel for saying it was ok)

From the pictures I actually don't think either of the two spare sensors I have are the same as that one! I'm going to have to take a closer look this weekend...

Baz, assuming you are right about where the water/coolant leak, I discovered the other night, is coming from, I have asked Chuck for a price for the Thermostat Housing Gasket, and also the Gasket set for the Intake Manifolds (which I assume I will need to remove in order to get to the Thermostat housing?)

I am also considering replacing the hoses with silicone at the same time, I have found a company that does a 5 part kit, www.sfsperformance.co.uk/ so I thought I may as well drain the whole system down and replace the hoses at the same time... What do you think?

I'm just thinking that if I have a pretty major job ahead of me I may aswell do a few other bits at the same time?

I don’t know about that supplier but I certainly got a better bleed on the cooling system after I installed the roe silicone hoses with the bleed screw and in a fraction of the time also. It definitely runs cooler since the last coolant change.

The only thing with the silicone tubes is they smell like burnt out wiring when hot. I guess it will diminish more over time but was most disconcerting at first

Another question...

That engine looks fantastic all shiny and new... What's the best way to polish the logos on the rocker covers and the bars on the top of the intake manifolds back to a nice shiny finish on my engine? (They are a bit oxidised on mine and hence have a dull finish)

Thanks for the info Dave,
I have a feeling that SFS supply Roe with their kits, but I'm not 100% about that...
Certainly good to know about the smell, I would have been a little worried if I hadn't been prepared for that. The kit I am looking at is a five piece kit, at the moment I am not sure which hoses the kit includes... I need to find that out. It's good to know that the bleed valve works well, I have had to 'burp' the system a couple of times recently and it is a bit of a faff... Anything that makes that an easier process is more than welcome!

Hey looks like I've got a free set of Viper models included in my engine crate - must be the VCA freebies?

Thanks Baz!

Thanks very much for that Nigel, yes I think the photos are going to help alot! One of the sensors I have does look vaguely similar, although the plastic plug section is white on the one I have, and has a single connection point in it, I think I'm just going to have to take the old one out and see whether it's the same, but the photos will definately help me in getting to it in the first place!

Having discussed the problem with Baz, I'm going to try and get to it by removing the top hoses from the Thermostat housing and am ordering up some gaskets etc from Chuck, just in case there are any problems, (I'm just trying to decide about whether to go for the 180' Thermostat that he suggests as well)... I've decided that while I'm doing everything else and sorting out my temperature gauge problem, I'm definately going to replace all my hoses with silicone once I get them ordered up.
