Keep hearing the term used, not really following what it's all about...

Those of us with the holy grail of viper engines have forged pistons and a different cam whereas people like baz have cast ones and spend a lot of time and money de puffing

Allegedly the non cream puffs are stronger for when it comes to supercharging and the engine can respond to mods better, however I suspect a lot of the latter comes from the cast headers on the early cars rather than the tubular ones of late. I saw 50 odd HP from headers and cats whereas other cream puffs have said headers are a waste of money. I guess DC put the tubular ones on to make up some of the loss from the cam and pistons, so doing headers on later cars has less effect.

Someone will be along shortly who knows what they are talking about

So I assume from what you are saying that the earlier engines are ok... So, therefore I'm good!? I haven't got a cream-puff!?

no cream puff for you Dave, applies to 2000 onwards.
pre2000 have a lumpy muscle car idle so a nicer engine note which Baz is trying to acheive by de-cream puffing (technical term )

ps

The cream puff discussion has as strong feelings for all involved as the fastest colour debate.

But we all know the 97 blue and white ones are ………runs for flame proof suit

Of course the forged pistons and cam of the pre 2000 cars is always countered but the better finish and ABS of the post 2000 cars leaving the poor souls with 2000 cars who have the cream puff engine and no abs out in the cold.

hope I got the years right, Neil?)

WooHoo!!

As I said, I didn't entirely understand it, but I'm glad to hear that my baby is pure beast and can't be labelled with such a flowery title...

Plus I thought Red was fastest!? Even Chuck says that, and he definately knows what he's talking about... Runs in direction of backup. hehe

Ah that’s just a diversion, the truth is that you have to polish them so much that they are slicker than an very slick thing just to keep up. Just look at the amount of zaino you had delivered

No matter what Baz says about yellow being the fastest colour we know that those valve covers are still RED underneath. hehe
