Want to service my car( Read as Baz has kindly offered his expertise). 10,000 miles on the clock, no idea of service history, so looking for a baseline type of service. I have the service manual which helps, but what do you folks suggest I should change? Plugs? Plug leads? What fluids? Clutch? Brake? Even Diff( oh no based on previous post!)
Best place to buy? Local dealer who can order in?
I have answered a previous post re buying Mobil 1 oil and remain very much in the market to buy some, any around? If not any thoughts on what alternative oil to use?

Any advice welcome

Thanks

oooh we missed this one. sorry

For a 93 with unknown history and 10,000 miles I’d probably go with the lot as you have no idea how long its all been in there and it all could have timed out on age rather then mileage.

I tend to work to something like this which is probably over kill but cheap insurance

12 months

engine oil + filter
Chassis lube including weather stripping and locks etc
other general checks

24 months
definitely do as time sensitive

as above plus
Coolant
brake fluid
clutch fluid
clean air filter

do also for insurance
trans fluid
diff fluid
Ps fluid
plugs @ £1 each you cant not do them

probably do plug wires every 48 months,

other things to keep an eye on and replace 2-4 years are

fan belt
Radiator hoses (now have silicone ones so no more changing those)
If you don’t know how long its been in there the fuel filter would probably be worth doing also
PCV valve. When i went to change mine the one in there was in better shape than the POS I brought so stuck with it

Thanks Dave,

It's booked in with the Southern Viper tech. Just getting the parts together now.
Trouble is everytime I see Baz, I get influenced to start modifying it. I keep telling myself to keep it standard but time spent with Baz starts the old grey matter off down the new exhaust system route. Maybe I would even be influenced to go yellow?

Thats it then, the stock versus modifed decision is made.

Starting with the basics, filters, tubes and exhaust ordered from Roe, on the slippery slope now

That supercharger looks nice.......
