Hello boys! Well after a lousy drive to Nottingham, We finally arrived at the showroom. Im not used to buying and selling cars, so to say I was nervous was an understatement! Especially when the car you always realy wanted is sitting there in front of you!
We were met by the 1st sale's rep! (which at that point my missus wanted to walk out of the showroom straight away, Luckly he cleared off after a few blunt words from me).
The paint work on the car was not fantastic and it had clearly been resprayed. Origninally the car had had white stripes, which the dealer had changed to silver. Still slightly unsure what to look out for I telephoned Barry. A HUGE THANK YOU, I gave him the VIN code ect: and the car checked out ok. The dealer did not have any history on the car other than an HPI check (well thats what he told me) and was not realy intrested in giving me all the answers to the questions I was asking. After all the problems I had with the cobra, I was going round the car looking for accident damage ect. But all nuts and bolts showed no signs of being tampered with and so..........I BOUGHT IT! Im now the proud owner of a Black and Silver GTS!!!! Its being delivered on Sunday!
I would like to say thank you to Tom, Richard, Paul Lacey and Barry. Your help in me making purchase this car was fantastic. Woops and to CLARE, (who lent me more than half the dosh! Well thats it for now, Roll on Le Mans!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations and welcome...
From what I can gather from talking to other owners, and due to my own behaviour, yes this is perfectly normal behaviour... Over the years prior to buying my car I amassed a collection of memorabilia and anything else I could get my hands on that had anything to do with the car...
I was nothing short of obsessed for 17 years prior to finally owning my dream and it still hasn't stopped... Funnily enough I sat down with a cup of tea yesterday afternoon and watched "Viper - Legend in its own Lifetime"...
"If this doesn't excite you... Check your pulse... You're not well!!"
ENJOY!!!!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! VERY NORMAL BEHAVIOUR!!!! In fact if you don`t find yourself popping into the garage every evening "just to check something" as I say to the Wifee, then you bought the wrong car.
I know how much you,ve dreamed of owning a Viper and I,m very pleased for you , the cars found a great home, look after it like I know you will and enjoy! 6 years on a I still can`t think of another car I`d want (Ferrari P4/F40 excluded and a tad out of my price range!)
ROLL ON LE-MANS! It,s gonna be one hell of a trip this year!.......(without flames I promise!)
I'm sure your doing the right thing. It would also be the right thing to keep light on the gas in the rain, these things have bags of torque and that doesn't mix well with the rain and an new driver who hasn't slept in three days.
edit well i guess you know that from a cobra
anyway welcome aboard from another surrey viper

I'm already popping into the garage in eager anticipation
Starting to wonder how i'd be able to cope with the feeling of buying the monster that will be sitting in front of me one day! "we're not worthy, we're not worthy....."
If it's that one I'd steer clear of it. Went to look at it myself, but never actually got to see it. (You say it's obviously been resprayed ! Why ?). Anyway, it wasn't there when I went to look at it. It was apparently up at one of the 'directors' houses. Oh and they weren't currently able to start it. And it had been curbed. Prett badly. And it needed a new front tyre. And a wheel. Dodgy place that. Had a look at some of the other cars there - some of the classic mustangs. Just about all of them had had dodgy paint jobs.
