I noticed that changing gears especially from 1st gear into second, then third in the winter months is quite rough. Once the car warms up, about 5-10mins, changing the gears is much smoother. I noticed that very recently, but am slightly concerned. btw: I take the RT10 2001 for a spin once a week. Actually, since I got the car 1.5y ago I always found the gear change little bit "rusty" but not as much as now... Is this normal? Or is it just the drop in temperatures?

Was in service in early April '06. I'm not sure if gear fluids were changed or not. Will have to look it up. What fluids should I get?

Look on the VCA site and do a search there is much about gearbox oil.

But all the brands I have been unable to find in the UK.

Anyhow, who needs 2nd,3rd,4th,5th,6th when you drive a Viper

Just looked it up. Gear/Transmission fluids were not changed last year.
In the meantime I looked up the manual and apparently this is normal in cold weather conditions and doesn't cause any damage.

Anyhow, I'd like to change gear/transmission fluids, what brands do you guys use then?

The gearbox oil is Dexron III. Got mine from Baz's mates at US Automotive in Luton. Here's their web site:

There's also a replacement mopar synthetic which is mega expensive. It was factory fill in later years and a TSB for NGR on the early ones, Apparently makes it harder to shift cold though.

Baz, can I come over for a check up? I'd love to learn from the master... against payment that is, so you can't say no

here's a to-do list:

install trunk struts
install new radiator bottle (behind front facia)
change gear/transmission fluid
lube front & rear suspension ball joints & tie rods
oil change
