Been reading on a few threads that there is a danger of the power steering cap working loose and spilling fluid all over the headers, thus causing a catastrophic engine fire... Any opions on this would be appreciated, my cap seems pretty sturdy and shows no signs of loosening, but should I attempt to purchase or fashion something to stop this from potentially happening? and if so what should I do?

I check mine every time i open the hood/bonnet..
I also have a piece of silicon hose coming of the top of the breather cap and tucked down facing the ground...

There are a few kits out there .....

I might still have some hose left will check....

A hose clamp and a piece of Alloy or somthing will stop the lid comeing off,Hose clamp around the lid and the alloy plate down the side of the bottle..

Thanks for the info Baz, I was considering putting a cable tie round underneath the bottle and tightening it up over the cap... might invest in one of those Roe Racing kits... a few quid for one of those would be highly more acceptable than losing the beast to an engine fire!

you can buy direct from the guy who makes them (who supply Sean) and you can have a choice of finishes

mine came off during a track day at Oulton park, the smoke it created was amazing but no fire luckily and the engine was very very hot!!!
