Clutch Bushings
Discussion
Ah heck! Just been reading a post on the VCA site... Clutch problem
http://www4.forum.viperclub.org/showf
The guy is describing something that I have to do too... Didn't actually realise it was a problem to be honest... Looks like I'm going to have to get the tools out!
Edited for description: Basically the guy is describing that he has to push his clutch pedal down and to the right to start the car, Chuck Tator has replied stating that it means that the Clutch Pedal Bushings need to be replaced. Which he says is a bit of a fun job! (I have emailed Chuck to find out if he can supply me with a pair of bushings.)

Nigel,
I'll let you know how I get on, I could be wrong but I don't think it's likely to be detremental to the Clutch... so probably not too much to worry about as such, and as you know it is only an issue when you start the car up, so it's not like we are having to move it to the right everytime we depress the clutch for a gear change, (Thank the lord!).
Chuck has advised that when I change the bushings, to look at the housing where the shaft goes through to make sure that the hole is not egg shaped or worn, as he advises that he found two that were and that the housing can be replaced if needed.
I can only assume that pushing it to the right will cause the shaft to apply pressure to one side of the hole in the housing and over time could cause some wear... I'll keep you posted.

Got my new Clutch Bushings in the post at the weekend from Chuck Tator, (Thankyou very much Chuck!) managed to slide into the footwell on my back to have a look and attempt to work out how to replace them... Looks like that's going to be fun!! Got a busy few weeks coming up, so currently contemplating leaving it til after the Luton Lunch incase I haven't got it all back together again by then... Will keep you posted!
