Hi Guys,
I've got a 1997 GTS. I fitted a new battery the other day and all was fine. It went in for a new clutch and flywheel and after one or two teething problems, things seemed to be getting sorted out however one morning it wouldn't start and this has been the problem ever since for nearly three weeks. The car will turn over but won't spark. There is no power going to the injectors and the coil packs aren't responding either. I've had an auto electrician in to look at it and he thinks its the original alarm system like the immobiliser, the ECU or something like an inertia switch if there is one on the car? Has anybody had a problem like this before, can advice me on any of the things above like alarm or does anybody know somebody who can work and fix the electric's on it because i'm running out of ideas now and so is the sparkie i've got in. Please help, anything at all would be gratefully received.
Thanks a lot guys and gals.
Craig.

Have you pulled the fuses under the steering wheel one , can't remember which lets you crank but car will start.
Not eveyone knows the Viper has two fuse boxes.
Reset ECU buy pulling lead under bonnet.
The fuse labeling is crap by the way so you have to pull them all to find out which one.
Clutch switch stops cranking and coil packs etc.
Does everything else work on the car????

Hi guys. The only other things that don't work are the rear and dash lights. The car doesn't start at all, it just turns over but doesn't fire. I'll try resetting the ECU, which lead is it and does it have to be put for a certain amount of time or just out and back in again? I found all three fuses boxes on mine, one under the bonnet, one under the dash and one in the boot near the speakers. No idea where the clutch switch is, any directions for that would be great, and i've also no idea where the factory immobiliser is, so any help with that too would be awesome.
Cheers,
Craig.

Well i've tried everything suggested and still no joy, its still dead! I'm scratching my head now with what to do, as is everybody else. I've had an auto electrician looking at it and he can't really see too much he can do either mainly because he's never worked on one before! Anybody know of someone who can help me on this? I'm getting to my last option of ripping everything out and getting the thing re-wired, but ideally I want to avoid that if possible. Please help (
Thanks guys and girls!

Well round one the Viper.
Ok, well sit in car turn ignition on, do you here the fuel pump start should be a small wirr behind you.If not then it could well be the fuel pump relay is duff, quite common.
Did you actually pull the fuses under the dash and check.
The fuses in the rear are fuel pump relay related.
When the clutch was done did they disturb the wiring on the tunnel?? (Thanks Chuck for that one)
Chuck also said you need a service manual and work your way through it which is good advice.
Last but by no means is the alarm relay under the dash, split into to parts entry and alarm which seems to have the ignition cut circuit included in it.
