Had a drive in my pals Viper last week and was well impressed.

Not a car I had ever considered before, so have 3 questions:

1. Whats the entry level price for early cars?
2. Where are the private sale cars usually advertised?
3. What goes wrong with em?

cheers

I had a 93/L RT10 with 1,200 miles that I bought privately for £18k and sold for £23k 2 years ago. It was black with side screens and bubble top.

I think the US price and value of the £/$ rate regulates the UK price.

I would buy another if the opportunity, particularly a GTS.

you wont find much cheaper than this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DODGE-VIPER-POR

autotrader,Pistonheads classifieds, importers, there's usually few on our clubsite also a few are mentioned amongst owners, i know of around 5 club cars that arent adverstised as such

not much go's wrong with any type of viper, they are rock solid compared to other marques, normally just usual wear and tear parts. Head gaskets are known to fail on the early cars

Thanks Viper

Yes the EBay car looks good value, major concern is the comment

OFFSIDE WAS DAMAGED IN THE USA IN 2000 AND COMPLETE NEW PAINTWORK WAS CARRIED OUT

Sounds like side was ripped out of the car at some point!

When I went out and looked for my Viper this was the first car that I "brought". I won the Ebay auction, at that time the car was priced at £21,000. I put a deposit down on the understanding that if the car failed the RAC inspection I wanted my money back.
At that time the only known damage was a back end knock which had been repaired., it looked ok to me.
However the inspection found significant front end damage that had been poorly repaired. I told the seller this who stated that he was not aware of this and actually refunded my deposit.
This car has been on Ebay a few times and obviously has not been sold.
The car is not bad, interior plastics are poor, but looks pretty good. The seller was desperate to move the car 2 months ago, I guess he is even more desperate now.
At the current price this is not a bad buy, if you are of the more mechanically minded Viper owner.
I may still have the mechanics report on e-mail somewhere.
If anyone wants the report contact me and I will see if I can find it.
