took the heads off today,not as difficult as i thought,but smashed two socket extention bars undoing the head bolts!!! they were ******* tight!
the bolts on the intake manifold were remarkably loose ! some were hardly finger tight! if i am rained off the golf course in the morning,i'll spend the morning cleaning everything up ready for assembly.
i understand the torque settings are different for the new head gaskets can you let me know the setting please,also is there a two stage tightening sequence?

YAHOOOOOOOO!!!!!! just completed head gasket replacement and it started first time!!! AND NO BITS LEFT OVER !!!
.just two valve cover bolts missing,which i dropped as i was dismantling(baz said he has some spares he is kindly going to put in the post). so i may now qualify as viperspannerman (northern division) !!!
so i will be going to the pub to celebrate
