Hi! New owner in Sweden here, it's a 1998 GTS Silver.
This car is mint, but has the terrible euro exhaust. Power
stealing and sounds awful. Also it is not as fast as I hoped.
Will smooth tubes, cut airbox and an exhaust fix this?
I have asked on Viperalley but I would really appreciate
if you guys who actually own euro spec Vipers could give me some
input.
Thanks and have good weekend!

the stock exhaust is quite an embrassing sound for such a car, your planned mods will make the world of difference and make it a much more enjoyable experience ! swapping for hi-flows cats (the OE ones are quite restrictive) and K&N air filters will also help and isnt expensive to do either. Make sure you remove the airbox restrictor if it hasnt already been taken out

enjoy !

I can second Viper's comments..I have a euro version and stripped out the rear silencers..and just recently had the cats replaced, and smooth tubes..makes a world of difference.

if you can get yourself to a swedish/swiss/german club meet, you'll get to hear lots of different exhaust setups

you cant drop a 2001 ECU into a 98, the ECU must be of the same year,
different cams,timings etc..

12.5@113mph was acheived by Viper Larry on his first run in a stock GTS

I've heard that euro models have only 2 p2 sensors?
Is this true, and will an us spec still work??

Correct, I forgot above...
4 (!) O2 sensors for the US PCM.
