My 1997 GTS has developed a Wiper problem! N/S wiper OK, O/S wiper works although sticks during operation, therefore hits N/S blade, then jams up the operation of both! Stripped motor of O/S, where all is OK, seem to be a control box problem! Has anyone had a similar experience? Has anyone a wiring diagram?

Have you tried swaping the motors round to see if the problem stays the same side...

Hi Nick,
The few wiper problems on Vipers I've fixed that sound like yours have been the right W/motor [right hand side on a left hand drive car ]. The control is in the RH motor.
1992-2002 RH wiper motor #4643065 MSRP $504.00 USD
[less 20% plus shipping]

Hope this has helped?

Other than swapping the motors over! Are there any basic electical continuity checks that I can carryout to pin point the problem? I do not want to fork out $$ if it is not the problem! The drivers wiper(LH) works fine, although it will not turn off until the passenger wiper completes its cycle. So I agree the passenger wiper does influence the (LH). Some pictorials I have seen suggest there is a seperate control module box. Where is it situated and are there a basic tests to confirm whether it is operating correctly!

Any info would be greatly appreciated

Hi Nick,
1997 Viper service manual, section 8K. If you can't get a hold of a manual and if you would like, I can fax you that section out of my shop book [it's 9 pages], e-mail me your fax number at: tatorsdodge@msn.com
