I have popped over from TVR forum because I was told you guys have loud cars. I'm sure it is true. Unfortunately having a loud car is increasingly a problem these days.

I can scarecely believe how far the legislation against sports cars has come. You must all know by now that the chances of running our loud cars at legal motorsports events have rapidly dwindled to only a handful each year. I hear 97dB (static) being bandied about all over the place. Thruxton can no longer run even F3 races. Bruntingthorpe can only run about 12 noisy days a year - which are all private corporate events.

My car is 106dB (4000rpm) and makes a glorious sound that is, apparently, legal and awe-inspiring to young boys on the steet but is not allowed at most motorsport events. Go figure.

So the short question is, where do you guys take your cars so you can 'drive it like you stole it'?

I sympathise with you.............Though the Viper never sees track (or road come to that) I have a couple of 911 both of which give me the same problem as you've encountered............If these bureaucratic knob ends aren't stifling us enough with the green issues they now onto our noise.

Elvington has a 105bD day coming up soon, depends on what you sort of day your after, Woodbridge,Santapod,Avon Raceway, forget venue in Scotland are noise free, certain days at the usual Brit circuits

still no speed limits at the Isle of Man, or noise problem on the road !

no noise limits at Baz's Millbrook track day either, if it comes off

Thanks. That has given me a few ideas to chase up.

What I am looking for now is either a vmax-type event (Straight line high speed) or a drifting day (rare, I know). Santa Pod looks like fun (for about 12s at a time)

I put her into the tyrewall at Goodwood so I'll not be doing another typical track day for a while.
