Pays for the hardware old chap. Simply an advert.

Please bear with it.

No worries Ted! Just never seen something like this appear before and thought it was some kind of virus add on our forum. Glad to hear it,s all above board and if it helps feed the cat (if you have one) then cool!

Sure Ted would create a custom anti-ad cookie if you stumped up the equivalent cash, plus ,say, a couple of weeks development and testing at senior software engineer rates.

i appreciate the need for advertising, after all ,there wouldn't be a pistonheads forum without it, but i think there is enough adverts all around the forum without being in it!.it's no big deal really ,if tom hadn't mentioned it i wouldn't have bothered
hey...me and tom actually agree on something!!!!

Yep, I can appreciate that. Lots of people have had good quotes from them so it is at least a useful advert for many.

I think more common ground was found at Silverstone when the Orange/Bronze beast was seen in the fleash for the first time (Very Impressed!).The wife had an interesting idea about the colour (should buyers not be keen on the colour), what about Black? as that would still match the interior and would look nice with silver strips? Just an idea. Nice to chat with you John. An once again....great job done on the Viper!

Thanks for your very constructive comments here Tom.
is it the colour,or that it's been rebuilt that stops it selling?
admittedly the colour was a personal choice and looks fantastic when the sun shines on it.Had i intended to sell it i would have (rather obviosly) painted it blue and white.Perhaps i should offer a colour change and a full independent engineers report in the sale price?
(it would look bloody evil in black!!!)

Hi John,
I think the colour change option and engineers report is a good. The Viper is a car that at the best of times can take a while to sell so I guess its just a case of waiting for the right buyer to come along.I think that the only other possible reason could be the interior , even though in some areas it is better spec`d then the original and cost a huge amount of time and money to complete, I could be wrong about this but I my personnal feeling is that some buyers could feel the car is car cross between the real thing and a kit car, despite the great final finish of the interior is does seem better suited to a top build cobra replica or Ultima. Maybe the best solution would be to remove 8 inches from your legs , allowing you to drive the beast in comfort and hence have no need to sell! (Sorry...that wan,t a very helpful solution was it?)
For what it worth a few years ago I bought a Lotus XI Lemans built with the last Eleven body but using a Westfield chassis, and full Lotus race engine but it took an age to sell(2 years) until the right buyer came along (me) who didn`t care that the Chassis was wrong and it didn`t have a Climax engine fitted, the car was stunning but at the end of the day its about matching the right car to buyer and the more out of the ordinary the harder this can be.
All the best,Tom
