No doubt you guys know this car and the owners, especially as it's advertised on PH, but does this not strike anyone as a steal, or have Viper values taken a downturn recently.

And while we're at it, what about this (hopefully this link will work)...

Forgive me, I'm a humble ex-Corvette owner looking fopr something a bit different after 3 C4s (last one was a Callaway Twin Turbo 6-speed though...)

both if in good nick are excellent value

the blue GTS came with us to Lemans in '02 only ever time I've seen it,
on an earlier ebay auction, the owner mentioned it was for sale along with a Hummer both to make way for a Lambo

the black car has been mentioned here not long ago, personally the tan interior is not the best but if you could live with that, i guess its worth looking at as well.

depends upon the condition; low mileage vgc blue & white GTS's are hard to find.

Hi again Paul, How are you doing? I heard about your new Viper on last year's German trip, sounds like you drove it a lot faster than the GTS!

Yes the Vipers I mentioned do seem like an awful lot of car for the money, seriously over what I would like to spend on a fun car but who knows...

Not sure if I could linve with the attention I'd get in a GTS (I remember in France the locals were comparatively ignoring our 'vettes and eyeballing your car...I've heard that driving a Viper is an acquired taste, perhaps even more so than driving a vette, and you need 100% concentration behind the wheel of a Viper. Is that right?

Don't worry I won't be asking the "how many MPG" questions. I seem to remember that on the aforementioned German/Belgian trip my old Callaway's fuel guage was flashing on "reserve" (more than once I was sweating about running out of gas on the autobahn..) while your Viper still had some gas left.

The GTS's I mentioned would be a lot more tempting if (as I suspect but who knows) I could get my money back (or more)at selling time.

Malc,

Great thanks yep the new car is great it inspires more confidence than the old GTS, but I do miss it. The blue and white fellow seems to have been pampered its whole life so it should be a bargain, think we have only seen it about once.

The GTS gave me 23 mpg on a run which was great, the sound is fantastic, so who needs a stereo...LOL and yes its not an easy car to drive you need to pay attention especially in the wet.

In a nutshell Vette is a car designed for a daily drive, Viper designed as a trackday special.

Hope we can meet up again soon, what ever car you buy.
